Harrier T8 - Royal Navy 1:48

Recommended Posts

Poor photo's unfortunately. This T8 has been sitting as you see it for months - 97.5% complete, time to complete and move on. Heritage Aviation conversion with Monogram AV8A kit.

The cockpits bare, so I've scratched some instrument panels to drop in, and Neomega seats will be added. I intend to present with the canopies hinged open but watch this space - vac canopies not exactly my favourite.

RBF tags and a bit of detail here and there. Another kit to add to my ever growing "Black" collection. Hope to have completed within the week.

I love the 2 seat Harriers, I just wish you could get them OOB rather than having to resort to major surgery.

:D

Amen to that and agree totally. As my foot note says, 2 seats etc....love em but every 2 seater is a conversion.

Must also find a better way of photographing these Gloss Black kits - they really dont look that good with poor lighting

She's looking good Gary!! Good luck with the vac-formed canopy's! I had their T10 conversion and attempted to use the canopy's provided - they were far too big, panel lines were too prominent and didn't fit!!! They seemed like they were from a different kit!! Hopefully the T8 set is better - at least you should be able to use the Monogram windscreen?

Thanks everyone.

Bill - no this canopy isn't any better either. There was a build article in SAM last year of this, and the model was finished with the canopy closed - as a one piece. The profile was all wrong, far too tall. That's partly why I want to seperate mine and hinge them open.

By the way, how did you get around yours?

One other critisism - the cockpit interior is far too narrow and I'm having to slice all the sides of the seats away just to get them to fit in.

I didn't!! Its still not finished!! To compund matter the forward fuselage's resin is a bit warped, so the whole thing looks twisted. I did try to straighten it out, but gave up!! Its in a box in the loft at the moment!!!

Hasegawa will probably beat me to it (with any luck!!!!)
