GreyGhost
Wow Frank, nicely done ! Good choice on the music too ... :) Gregg
K2Pete
Very well done Frank! The music choices are right on and the images you chose were excellent! ... except the horizontal launch sequence ... I'm not sure about that. I just wish the video was longer! :) Well done! Pete
crowe-t
Nicely done Frank! Great choice of music, I'm also a Star Trek fan.

Ace Airspeed
The shuttle was an extension of the Apollo program......................albeit with bad timing. It was sold as a cheap way to get to space, but the truth has born that there was nothing cheap about it. That said, the technology still holds as amazing - if old school. The Shuttle is dead...................................where do we go from here besides bumming rides on Russian, Chinese, Indian, or Japanese shots? Shame on the U.S for bowing out. MiG31
where do we go from here besides bumming rides on Russian, Chinese, Indian, or Japanese shots. Since when were the Indians and Japanese sending up manned spacecraft? Shame on the U.S for bowing out. That might be a bit premature. Consider that there's at least one vehicle in development, and the booster for it is about to conduct its first launch test. And before anyone cries foul about the potential cancellation of Constellation, because it will mean that we have to hitch a ride on Soyuz: that was going to happen anyway, since NASA has not done a very good job of planning for a STS replacement. And I thought the video was okay. Some of the editing could be improved, particularly the odd rotated launch views and the old Shuttle launch photo thrown in - couldn't tell if it was Atlantis, Discovery or Endeavour. Music copyright might also be an issue. That said, I'm not really a fan of the opening song from "Enterprise". Edited May 30, 2010 by MiG31
GreyGhost
<...> Music copyright might also be an issue. That said, I'm not really a fan of the opening song from "Enterprise". Although he used the 'Enterprise' cover of the song, it predates it's use in Star Trek, I believe another version was also used in the movie 'Patch Adams' ... MiG31
That doesn't really invalidate my opinion of the song, or its association.
GreyGhost
That doesn't really invalidate my opinion of the song, or its association. I'm just saying it has a history besides being 'The Enterprise Song' ... Gregg
Liberator24
INCREDIBLE VIDEO! You truly are one of the shuttle fans that go that extra mile to show your appreciation! I got a neighbor that doesnt even bother....moron... I am not worried about our adventures back to space. There are too many little projects from civilian and military tests to ever think we are gonna let other countries take over.....I am excited about the future. Thanks again for the vid. I have heard you can make some money off the ads from you tube. I linked it to my facebook page so you get more exposure. Proud to be on a website that has such great talent! -Jim

frankv74
Thank you everyone, It is hard to think that the are other's that did not like the video because of the music choice. Also all the shot where from Atlantis I know this because i got them from the NASA.gov website and i typed in Atlantis to get them. Also being the some did not like the music sellection. may be next time i will choose something like the March from "1941" But the reason i chose Star trek for the music is that, If you speak to many in NASA they got their Influence to work for the agency from watching Star Trek SciFi shows as we were growing up and I am not doing anything that everyone else has done on YouTube. :(. MiG31
I've seen more than a few videos, tributes and otherwise on Youtube that were compilations of stills and/or video with music dubbing. That's not to say that yours was bad, though. I just didn't like the song numbers in the second half of the video. Maybe it's from their association with "Enterprise". As for the dubious photo, I wouldn't explicitly trust NASA to have properly captioned every photo and video they have produced. I would assume you were able to read the orbiter's name on the original image. Even then, it's easy to tell that it was not from STS-132, but rather one from the early to mid 1990s. I got a neighbor that doesnt even bother....moron... That's pretty harsh. Are you saying he's a shuttle/space fan and doesn't contribute openly, or that he's anti-space exploration? MiG31
I did not mean every photo to be from STS-132 the tribute is for Atlantis not STS -132. I had that suspicion, though the video title and most of the material in it suggested it was aimed towards Atlantis's final mission, STS-132, not the orbiter's career in general. I may be wrong but I took it as Jim's neighbor didn't even care that the Shuttle was aloft ... Gregg
