CraigSargent
Here is a scan I took of the new sprue Hasegawa is putting in their latest Hornet boxings for anyone interested. As you can see you get the GPS dome, the 5 IFF antennae for the nose, the new angled centreline pylon, the bulged antennae for the rear nose gear door, 2 new sharkfin comms antennae and the dual chaff/flare dispensers for under the intakes. Only thing I was really disappointed in were the sharkfin antennae which are overly thick even in this scale.
musangpulut
How can I order this sprue from Hasegawa?

musangpulut
I ordered mine via HobbyLink Japan. This item is not in their catalog. So I can just shot them an enquiry email regarding this sprue?
CraigSargent
It won't be in their catalog as it is a kit sprue and not a separate product. Go to www.hlj.com, select the FAQ link and scroll to the very bottom - it tells you exactly how to order the item.
madmanrick
Pardon my ignorance, but these new parts are for the Super Hornet correct? If so, I have one of the earlier boxings so I guess I need them as well. TIA, Rick P.S. What is the exact name & model number of the kit this sprue comes from? musangpulut
Craig- many thanks! Madman- This new sprues are new parts for The F/A-18C/D late lot jets. Not for Super Hornet IMHO. Edited July 12, 2009 by musangpulut
1/48 scale pilot
Righy- these are late update legacy hornet bits- thanks for the post Craig
j-basset
These newly tooled parts are a real boon for building a late Lot F/A-18CD. Please note that the dual chaff & flare dispenser fairings are molded with the trailing edge portion in one piece, so some cutting will be required, since the trailing portion is fixed to the large MLG door. Hasegawa didn't address the gun-gas dispersal mesh under the nose, or the 2x 'fish bone' vents on the LERX, but I guess it isn't a biggie since Finemolds at least have issued a PE set for these items. graves_09
About NZ$18 per sprue including shipping to NZ (4 sprues for about $70) It cost me $15 including shipping to the US. Matt Roberts
Hmmm wonder when Hobbyboss gets around to copying this sprue for the next release of thier kit! Running for cover... Matt (Believe it or not I am finishing up a HB 'C' Hornet right now - at least when I get home from work!)
ST0RM
I wish Hasegawa would release the sprue with the SHARP and A/R pod for the Super Hornet. Thanks for the news Craig.
