  1. I tell myself this multiple times everyday......
  2. What is the record number of poll responses anyways ? I am not sure there is any power to our polls....I think that is because the forum (free response) aspect of it greatly outweighs whatever the numbers say anyways. Some of our topics tend to be split down the middle with people on both sides being quite vocal even if the poll numbers weigh heavier on one side......actions override poll numbers. I am also guessing that a small number of our total population is heavily engaged in the General Discussion section....with the rest reading it just for entertainment or to gauge how many others a
  3. Mr Song, I'd like to add the opposite wish, in addition to Jeff's wish : Upscale the TU-22M3 to 1/48th..... It would be a nice addition to the 48th scale B-1B. - Matt
  4. All, I used the term "Rivet Review" very loosely and do not mean it to be a separation of folks; but merely a speration in the level/type of content. Kind of like reading a trade journal : For example : When I want specifics about the latest research findings in Meso-scale Meteorology involving the Kinematics of Supercell Thunderstorms I'll go read the Journal of Atmospheric Sciences --- A rivet counter view of this slice of my life but if I just want some general info I'll go to the bookstore and find a good book on thunderstorms and other extreme weather (General Review). If ARC were
  5. When I came back into the hobby a few years ago I had a hard time figuring out which kit to buy and how it was different/same from some other kit from a diff. manufacturer.....needles to say I got really frustrated one time I brought a kit from a diff. manufacturer and found out it was identical to some kit I already owned and I was expecting something diff. Currently I got to dig like hell to find this info on this forum scattered all over the place in diff. areas with a crappy search engine to boot.....Or I have to go trawling all over the web to find what I am looking for. Centralization
  6. Yes......Definitely SU-27 family (including SU-32/34).
  7. I don't think anyone knows ! It's been in the AModel catlog for a few years now....I know that Aviation Megastore and a few other online places have them in the "future realeses" list. I still have my fingers crossed that it will eventually be a reality. - Matt
  8. The one main reason I buy Trumpeter and Kinetic is to keep these companies going........I see * a lot * of future potential from them and I love the aircraft they are building, particularly Trump. and their russian subjects.....sounds like good competition (for Hase. Tamiya, Revell, etc) and a niche for these guys. I am guessing that Trumpeter's Stock value is on the rise because of their business plan.....I guess they will eclipse some of the older manufacturers over time, if they don't get in to compete soon with the subjects and style that Trumpeter is willing to take on. I will likely buy

    B-1A #4

Well......It's been a while since my last update; too busy with work, life abd other kit builds. I am building this as an over-arching project; so that I don't ever feel rushed.....this way I only work on it when I feel like it. I am now 99% complet with the cockpit. I small minor thing to paint that I just noticed that I missed. I decided to open up the cockpit; both of them, so that I can display the interior. To do it I added a thin strip of plastic around the "hatch's hinge" holes and windows so that I can insert the hatches open/closed whenever I want. I scratched a few things in the
  10. In light of another thread closure around a touchy topic.... Do you want a Kit Review section. My idea was to have 2 types of reviews section: 1: General Review : not very deep or techincal, just what's in the box, price comaprisons, weapons assortment, degree of difficulty and versions that could be made without too much effort 2: Rivet Review : Much more detailed, techincal stuff about the real subject vs. the kit : like panel lines, quality of mold, exact likelness to the real thing, etc....in short the stuff that could be subject to flame wars....but mostly for those who want a far dee
  11. Good Luck Matt. BTW, if you entertain any thoughts of coming down to the TX (DFW, Houston or Austin) area; let me know....I do know a few people in the area in your line of work. Also the economy in these cities are on the mend already. - Matt
  12. rules be rules and all; but ..... ohhh well .... I guess I would never survive the military (I am known to bend or forge new rules too much in my non-military workplace)......
  13. There were other fly-bys back then from B-1s that shattered windows in the area.....not too long after that they had to fly higher and slower. AFA games had the best flyovers bar-none. I remember one game that haf 9 fly bys.
  14. I've seen a pair of F-16's fly lower than that at an Air Force Academy game in the early/mid 90's .... not only were they low, but fast and un-announced. Scared the crap out of a bunch of people in the stadium. Never seen anyhting like that since. You could easily see the pilot's head turning to look down at the stadium. He was easily 300' or less AGL (proabably 200' if that). There were no stadium lights then and they came from an angle that avoided the score board (barely). - Matt
  15. Mr. Song: What markings are planed for this release ? - Matt
  16. Bottom line for the Consumer : There's more positive than negative for a Kit Review section. After all....we are consumers of/for ARC; are we not ? People need to make decisions, that's what's hard about being an adult, so sifting through facts, opinions, subjectivity, objectivity, flame/turf wars just comes with the territory. I would welcome a Formal reviews section. Maybe to ease the pain there could be 2: 1: General Review : not very deep or techincal, just what's in the box, price comaprisons, weapons assortment, degree of difficulty and versions that could be made without too much
  17. Are the Manufacturers going with certain forums now ? I think Trumps. has been over on Z5 also..... You'd think they would want multiple forums .... but then again multiple forums may be harder to manage
  18. +1, Yes, Mirages . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . and throw in an SU-27 also !
  19. .....I am still crossing my fingers that the shortness issue isn't much of an issue....because I'd love to have a good 32nd of this ac.
  20. Looks like they may use the "in box" weapons set to lure in buyers. I see a bomb rack that I've never seen in any scale before....one that has been used (I think on the Mig-25 variants....I may be wrong....I don't have references in front of me) and the Mig-23 in Afghanistan. If they load it up with never before seen ordinance and racks....they could use it as a ploy to get buyers. As for the aircraft itslef; the main thing that stands out to me is how short it looks ..... I can live with some shape errors....but this one may cross my invisible line into deal breaker territory.....a real s
  21. Did she not lay on the horn......you'd think he'd hear it sooner or later. (I watched the video wo sound, so if she did have the horn on, I wouldn't know)

    F-104S

I didn't know that the underfuselage pylons are in the Has. F-104S kit..... I will be building the 1/48th scale kit.

    F-104S

Keep those pics coming gents..... I love that one pic that used to scare the russians. That Aspide looks an awful lot like a Sparrow....whats' the external difference(s) ? Is the fuel tank under the wing the same as the wingtip one. Or is the one fin clipped (shorter) ? I got a F-104S in the mail yesterday because it was the last of the Century Series to add to the stash....now I find myself thinking about getting a few more, that's a beautiful ac !

    F-104S

I am looking to do a "CI" interceptor with markings of the Italian AF (I need to build soemthing Itlalian...since I am 50% Italian). I was thinking about the following load: Wingtips : Fuel Tank Outer Wing Pylon : Sparrows Inner Wing Pylon : Fuel Tank Forward Fuselage : Sidewainders not too sure what to do about the Center Fuselage pylon or what the options may be. Do the Italians use the -104 for anti-shipping ?....I read somewhere that somebody used the -104 in the anti-shipping role with Komorans....that'd be kinda cool. - Matt
