  1. Thanks guys!!! ;) Wing Nut o-rama...the Winginator
  2. Well there's one you don't see every day ;) Nice work- thanks for sharing.
  3. That's awesome Phil Does it get it's own spot in the garage?
  4. I'm sure you will in no time, and I think the same thing when I see a lot of the work posted here I've only been back in the hobby for two years after a 25 year break. There are lots of people who give great advice and have helped me along immensely. I've found that being patient and thinking things through is 90% of the battle, for me at least. Looking forward to seeing one of your completed projects!
  5. Thanks for the input guys! The chipping is done by laying down a coat of Testor's Aluminum Metallizer paint. After it's dry, moisten the area with water and apply a coat of salt. Once the salt dries on the surface, remove the areas where you want the paint to be "chipped". Paint the normal color over the top and when the remaining salt is removed the aluminum color will be intact giving you your "chipped paint". A trick from a FSM article a few years back.
  6. Hasegawa 111 @ Squadron Is this the new tool kit? $20 is a lot less than what it's cousins are going for.
  7. All this 109 talk is getting me all excited ;)
  8. Tamiya 1/72 D-9, box stock with the exception of hypodermic needles for the wing root MG 151 cannons. Decals are EagleCals and paint is Testor's MM. I used Insignia Red for the bottom and regretted it after I completed the model, too dark. Other than that I'm pretty pleased with it. This is the first modern, well engineered kit I've built in several months, really nice to not have to wrestle with everything, I can't say enough good things about this kit, a pleasure to build. Vielen Dank Tamiya!
  9. You had me going there for a second Nice work!
  10. As far as the 190's, Eagle Cals makes an excellent set: Eagle Cals JV 44
  11. OK, I think I'll just take up needle point now....thanks.... Just awesome work there!
  12. Very impressive, nicely done!
  13. That is just stunning work, amazing...
  14. My first post in Critique Corner....here goes nothing! I was excited when I heard that Finemolds was finally going to fill a long absent hole in the 1/72 109 world by producing a 109F. I was less thrilled when I found out the price tage was about $20. Since I had a few Italeri kits on the shelf that I picked up cheap on ebay I decided to see what could be done with it. The two most glaring errors in my mind are the wheels (too big) and the landing gear (too far out from fuselage). True details makes a nice set of resin wheels so that's easy. I moved the landing gear in board by simply cu
  15. Nicely done! Love the 109 in desert colors. ;)
  16. Well they definitely look bigger, or longer at least than the MG 17's on the Italeri 109F that I just finished.
