Great looking Vandy 1! -
WellI can assure you that no Austrian Drakens were flying across the border/ hell they were scared to death of the Yugoslav Migs who violated Austrian airspace - at that time, Austrian Drakens were only gun equipped! There's a whole bunch of eye-witnesses of the MiG-29 flights over Slovenia at that time... And if you ask me, what they were doing here, the answer would be pshycological warfare - seeing the MiG-29 (or 21) flying at low level over Ljubljana with supersonic speed and the sonic boom that accompanied it, put quite a lot of fear among the people - how many people knew about sonic boo

Looks great! But you have to consider that VF-74 didn't have the PTIDS screens when flying F-14Bs

I wanted to try this kind of weathering with different shades of pastels... I actually discovered this effect by coincidence. I was doing a panel line wash and I was a bit clumsy and a bit of colour spilled all over the panel... When I tried to wipe it off with terpentine damped cloth I noticed that nice spotty effect... I then covered all of the plane with brown/black oil wash and left it for a couple of hours, then removed the excess colour with cloth and after that making random spots with terpentine damped cotton stick... After that I just wiped everything in the direction of the airflow a

looks great, grega! <_<

Mario: well I wouldn't mind if the panel lines would be just deep, but they are wide as well <_< Well I've been playing with oil wash tonite and here's the result, which I'm very proud of... What do you think about it?

looks nice so far... Watch for the decals though - the formation lightning strips are printed for Hornet instead of Tomcat :( -

I tried MM Metalizer Steel but it was too shiny... After trying with MM Metalizer Magnesium, the results were quite near the real thing... -
I'll have to disagree with you on this matter... I have a very good eyesight and very good knowledge of aircraft shapes and I know that that day there was 29 over my head - if not for anything else, it had twin tails - which other Yu fighter had them? And it flew at around 500 meters over the terrain, so IDing it wasn't very difficult...

well here's the current state of my Flanker... playing with Tamiya masking tape... I just hope the deadline will be extended...

Skull Leader has a point... But if you're gonna super detail it, use the Verlinden set and you won't be dissapointed. It fits in the kit at least as good as the kits thub. -
The BOL rails are Hasegawa ones from the weapons set VII. There are two main issues with this kit - first one was mentioned before - deep and wide panel lines; the other one being the wrong shaped panels at the engine exhaust, which I didn't bother to correct on this kit... I checked the Revell's A model and it has different panels but they look similar to ones in the D kit... Well... I just "Futured" it and I'll place the decals on tomorrow, so stay tuned for the Black Lion!

Neither will I :D Is it possible to extend the deadline for a month or so?

Looks great! But the more Su27 pics I see, the more I have a feeling every plane looks different... So why bother with the paints :) :D
