  1. Wow, HeavyArty, THE Comedic Genius, never disappoints me! Bravo! William
  2. pbishop, Will be watching this build closely. Even though I have a ton of Tamiya Mustangs I wouldn't mind giving the Monogram a try. Good luck! John, I admire your collection. Beautiful builds you have there! One question, on the P-51D's I see you added the rear view mirrors. Did you scratch build them? Or are those aftermarket bits? Again, great builds! William
  3. Jason, if accuracy is not an issue, the Academy 1/35 Cobra is a decent model. Just be aware that the Academy Cobra does suffer from some outline / shape problems. Otherwise it is fairly detailed. In terms of OOB quality, detail and accuracy, the Hasegawa 1/48 Apache is a very good kit to start with IMHO. Another Cobra alternative is the 1/48 Revell AH-1S which was just recently reissued and is very cheap and has excellent detail (if you can live with raised panel lines) right OOB. And if you happen to change your mind on doing strictly an OOB build, Werner's Wings offers a whole range of su
  4. The Dayton blowers are really good. I am using the Dayton 1TDR9. Whatever type of fan you use, just be sure it suits the size of your booth and the total length of your exhaust duct system. I don't regret this investment at all! Before this, I had to hope for not so hot / humid / rainy days as I had to do all my airbrushing outside... Here are some pics of the one I built. HTH William
  5. I'll take them if they are still available... Will also send a PM... William
  6. Well my Dora's are stuck in the local PO. USPS reports in arrived at my local PO this morning but they didn't have it... Not quite understanding that... Guess I'll have it tomorrow... Had a chance to look at it? Likes and dislikes? William
  7. Scott... They went VERY fast! I would say within 2 or 3 hours all 24 were sold. I think I caught just as they put it online. Sorry you missed out! RollModels say they have them available... William
  8. If you have a Hobby Lobby close you can buy different colored wire in the jewelry making section. I bought copper wire (the also have gold and silver/metal colored) in 32 gauge and 28 gauge (I think) for around $ 2 each. IIRC, 32 gauge is the smallest they have. It is very easy to work with. I used it on a 1/48 P-47M cockpit I am working on. HTH William
  9. I was able to grab two of them... How did you do? William
  10. and some more pics... Thanks for looking! William
  11. I also went the DIY route on my spray booth. I designed the plans with AutoCAD. The booth is modular design so I can take it apart if I ever have to move it. I designed it as a cross draft using a Dayton blower. Here are some pics: William

MESHER, I'm debating as well. I've been eagerly anticipating Eduard's Dora ever since it was announced. For some reason I have only recently (past 2 weeks) read about the shape issues of Eduard's 190 A kits and now it is clear that these issues have found their way into the Dora kit. So just like you, I'm thinking of sticking trying the MDC set. From what I understand, the MDC set is designed to fit Tamiya's Dora. I wish Hasegawa would hurry up and produce a 1/48 Dora... But who knows... We may not be able to afford it considering all the pricing issues surrounding Hasegawa kits. William
