Good looking is more important to me. Not a rivet counter...LOL. Although to have as much mean looking equipment as possible hanging off the thing is really attractive too.

LOL!...ain't it the truth!

Guys....like the title says. Who makes the best 1/48 F-111 KIT? I don't really care what version. IE....FB-111....F-111A,B,C...etc. I'm especially interested in the best decal sheet. Or even the best after-market decal sheet. Thanks, Paul

pminer replied to Tomcatlover11's topic in The Display Case
Hey guys, just wanted to post some pics of my newly completed models from the begining of 2016. First is the Hasegawa 1/48TH scale SH-3H Seaking Model kit converted to a D model. I took First place for it at the 2016 Jaxcon Model show and was very proud of the accomplishment. I used Model Masters Engin Grey paint and did some weather and panel line washes with arylic water based paint. Next is the Tamiya 1/48th scale F-16C Model kit done in the Florida Makos Livery from Homestead Air Force Base using Two Bobs Decals. I used Valejo Model air acrylic paint's for the first time on this model and -

pminer replied to Iceman8241's topic in The Display Case
Hello gentlemen, Here's the result of my latest project. Kit is Eduard's Good Evening Da Nang limited edition (Academy kit, Brassin wheels, nozzles, Zoom cockpit, masks, Furball / Cartograf decals) and I've used following aftermarket goods: Dude...that is absolutely Amazing!! Great job! LOVE the USAF grey F-4's. -
First....what's the difference between the E & F versions? Yes....I know the F is a 2 seater. But is the fuselage any different than the E? Are there any more external differences? I'm just learning about the F. Second...does anybody know the release date of the Revell F? Thanks! Paul

I'm with Jennings. Went to HL and picked up the kit. Nice little kit. But no cockpit....no interior...sparse detail all over. Well engineered but worth $45.00 full retail!? You've GOT to be kiddin me. I paid 17. Just about right.....

Discontinued Testors Model Master Paints: I can understand a few of those....but Camouflage Grey FS 36622 and Insignia White FS 17875????? Ridiculous. But then "new management" is usually "stupid is as stupid does". Mergers...Acquisitions...etc. are freakin free frawls and usually UGLY. Annoying...

Now DATS what I'm talkin about! I don't know a thing....wish I did. Yeah..the 144th C-5M works too. Remember a long time ago when Panda Models advertised a 72nd C-17 on their website? Never happened. But if it would've, I would have bought 3 of them immediately. Full retail if necessary! Ya know...all these Transports are LONG overdue! Paul

Hmmm...you guys seem to be in the know. Any advance knowledge of a Revell 72nd C-17...or updated/new tool C-130J series? Just curious.... Paul

LOL....I'm with ya for sure! In fact..I'm on board with all of ya'll. It would seem logical to me that there would be a huge market for the plane model. I mean...it's practically in every movie you see these days. Seems to me that all Revell would have to do is to scale up their 144th. I'd be one happy camper fer sure! Already have 3 72nd A400M's. Great model! but a 72nd C-17 would bring me goosebumps. And yes...I have plenty of room in my house. I'd make room!! Paul

Ok....I participated in a poll on the Revell website a few weeks ago. Possibly RoG...can't remember. Of ALL the votes...the one that got the most was for a 1/72nd scale C-17. It wasn't even close. Double & triple the others. I'd post a link but cannot find it right now. Anybody have thoughts about this? I'd kill and slap my mama for 72nd C-17. (ha..) Their 144th was awesome. Any insider knowledge or thoughts here?? Paul

WHAAAA HOOO!! Thanks Darren!

We sure about the re-release of their "F"? That would be awesome! Any date?? Got a link? Paul

My List: 1/144: C-5A, B and ESPECIALLY the C-5M. New tool...or a serious upgrade to the Otaki mold(s). WITH cockpit and interior. How bout it REVELL!? 1/72: HC-130J, AC-130J, EC-130J Commando Solo. Accurate! Italeri...Revell...who cares? Just engraved panel lines and accurate everything! Thank you sir! C-17A. Current configuration(s). Upscale of the great Revell C-17A. How bout it Revell!? Thank you to all and good night!

Yep...same with me. "...Best guess Spock..."

You guys are amazing. Thanks! I think it's pretty much "ball park" silver base...some grey...some green...and make it look as anodized as possible. Hmmm...not in my skill set....yet.
-
Yep...same issue I'm running into. I just can't tell. I guess it's just one of those situations where you...like Spock...use "best guess". I like definite though.... Thanks!

Ok...I'm getting my @#@%$ whipped trying to figure out the color of the AIM-9L/M Guidance Control Group (GCG). The GCG is the darker area closer to the nose. Here's a link to what I mean. (LINKY) Anybody have ANY idea what color I could use to make this thing accurate? Thanks, Paul

Brief tutorial on Phantom data stencils?
pminer replied to Space Tiger Hobbes's topic in Jet Modeling
Haha...that's hilarious. -
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try it but it is such an old boxing (1988) I doubt seriously they would have any spare parts. But thanks...

Guys, I have an old Revell 1/144 C-5A. Great kit...but I busted the windscreen. To find a replacement is...well...practically impossible. $100.00 bucks or more for a new kit...just for the windscreen. Anybody make a replacement set for the 1/144 C-5? Or...you guys have any ideas how to fix / replace? Thanks, Paul
