BK-117
Hello guys ! As i mentioned some time ago in the entries section , i begun with my first group build project. My plan is to convert a BO-105 PAH of Revell (1/32) into a police BO-105 CBS. So i have to make two cuts to the two halfes and stretch it for 7,8 mm. The interior i build straight out of the box. The FLIR , the SX-16 and the steps will be taken from the EC-135 police kit , also from Revell. The loudspeakers on the underside of the BO will be taken from the old ADAC BO-105 kit. The decals for the police version i have already at home. But now first a picture of the origin helicopter: And from the kit box: Greetings Michael Edited July 11, 2008 by BK-
BK-117
And i have already done some cuts to the kit: First i cut the two halfes: and added some plastic sheet: More to come in the next few days Greetings from Austria
Anthony in NZ
This is going to be fantastic. I am really looking forward to seeing this project progress. I was thinking of doing the same thing after my big BK-117 build I have going on here at the moment. Please keep us posted. If it is anything like your other 1/32 chopper model here then it will be a stunner! Great start so far Cheers Anthony
Avus
I tink I saw some of you work before and juding by those helos this will be one interesting build. Keep it up!
BK-117
Hello ! Today i glued the plastic sheet in to make the BO-105 7,8mm longer. I also glued the two halfes together and made putty on it. A few parts were already sanded. But now the pictures : left side: right side: The next step will be , to cut out the third window on each side and to build the cockpit. More photos will follow. Anthony in NZ
Wow, this is some serious surgery, all that filler is scaring me! Well done mate, she is making good progress, I am already enjoying this. I have found that a light covering of superglue over filler will help with shrinkage down the track. The reason I mention it is because in the past on serious conversion work I have done, it didnt matter how carful I was there seemed to always be a small ammount of shrinkage. So far I have found that a thin layer seems to stop it. Anyway, just my findings for what it is worth. Looking forward to the next installment Cheers Anthony
BK-117
Today i cut out the openings for the third window on each side and after that i installed the windows , made of transparent plastic sheet. After that i made the seats (3er seats of the BK-117 model) in the back of the helicopter. Then i coloured the cockpit. But now the pics (cockpit and skids are not already glued in their position): Hope you like it. Things to achieve in the next days: - adding seatbelts to all five seats - bathing the clear parts in future , so i can glue them without becoming blind - scratching some details on the outside of the helicopter ( housing of the landing light , etc.) - closing the helicopter - changing some EC-135 and EC-145 parts (boarding steps, SX-16 , FLIR ,etc.) So you can see , a lot of more work to do Greetings Michael Edited July 14, 2008 by BK-

BK-117
Hello ! Today i added the seatbelts (made of Tamiya Tape) and after glueing the windows in their position i glued in the cockpit. After that i closed the cockpit with the winshield and built the rails for the sliding doors. I also added the loudspeakers (taken from the ADAC BO-105 kit) and scratched the aerodynamic covers of them with putty. I also installed the GPS sensor and scratched the landing light housing. - next step will be the colouring of the helicopter Greetings Michael

BK-117
Hi ! Time to show the newest progress: Today i airbrushed the complete Helicopter with Revell silver. After some minutes the colour was dry and i could add the blue and red colours. The blue colour was also dry after an hour , so i could also fix some of the decals But there are some more things to do in the next few days (SX-16 , FLIR , boarding steps , main rotor , etc.). Greetings from Austria Michael

BK-117
Also a little update today: I installed the FLIR , the SX-16 and the tailrotor. I also shortened the mainrotor of an old BK-117 for 1,8cm on each blade. Things to do in the next few days: - wiring the SX-16 and the FLIR - completing the mainrotor - scratching the wire strike protection system (WSPS) - scratching the winshield wipers - building the landing light - painting some details (anti collision light , etc.) - bringing up some decals Hope you like what you see greetings Michael

Anthony in NZ
That is absolutely beautiful Did you do the decals yourself? Cheers Anthony
BK-117
@ Anthony in NZ The decals were drawn by a friend of mine (username ec-135 in this forum) according to photos from the internet and printed by a company in Germany. This was our second print there , after the decals for the Austrian Police Ecureuil (AS-355F/N) and we are very satisfied with the prints.
