Tetstors Dullcoate

Recommended Posts

awesome - thanks guys!

I ended up buying the Testors Lacquer Thinner. I only had the Tamiya stuff on hand at the time and wasn't sure whether I really needed the right matching product, and seeing as they don't seem compatible I got the Testors stuff (plus it was only $5.00)

thanks again for your help guys

Yes, I have used regular "department store" brands for years and never had a problem. Testors Dullcoat gives the smoothest flat surface I have ever seen. Some have claimed that their coatings can yellow over time, but I have never seen it and I have been using it for 20 years at least. I think gloss white paint will always eventually yellow, so that may be what folks are seeing and mistaking it for the Testors yellowing.
