jmel
I just have a few jets drawn so far, but this will cover a variety of ANG/AFRES/AFRC jets going back to Desert Storm, and concluding with jets as they appear today. Look for a lot of great nose art/ladder door art, mission markings, etc.
gonzalo
Jake, I think it would be easier for me to add you as an authorized user to my bank account! That way you can just take my money whenever you like. Gonz

tsculton
Any possibility of a 442nd Fighter Wing / 303rd Fighter Squadron aka KC Hawgs jet.
tobiK
Jake, better ask: "How about some "modern Hog guide"? ...ahmm, wasn't there a A-10 from Alaska wearing a kind of winter camo?
jmel
Any possibility of a 442nd Fighter Wing / 303rd Fighter Squadron aka KC Hawgs jet. Yes. ...ahmm, wasn't there a A-10 from Alaska wearing a kind of winter camo? Yes, but it wasn't Guard. It won't be on this sheet.
otis252
Looks great, but of course my usual question. Will we see some of this in 32nd scale? Chuck
Djack
442nd...YES!!! Another must have!
jmel
Looks great, but of course my usual question. Will we see some of this in 32nd scale? Chuck Boy, I don't know, Chuck. You know my stance on 1/32, but the Trumpeter kit is so bad. I have only seen one built in the last year or two, so I don't know if I could even sell enough sheets to pay for themselves. otis252
I know Jake, and I understand, especially about the Trump A-10. Got anything else in the 32nd pipe line? Chuck
taggor
Looking good Jake. You definitely have a customer here. Since there seems to be requests / wish lists going on, here are mine: (shameless I know!) 1. A separate complete stencil sheet for purchase, covering the small bits oft forgotten like the paint shop logos and of course the ACES II seat. ( So I don't have to hunt down the Afterburner sheets again!) 2. Another shameful plug for the 23rd FW. Inclusive of the 74th, 75th, and 76th! A guy can wish can't he!? 3. It's only a wish list! I received my decals today that I plan on using for the ACES II seat. Very crisp printing as to be expected from Cartograph. I hated to cut up that Elegant Eagles sheet though. Good thing I bought two. Thanks for putting the time in on these decals. They are excellent. Sizes on the placards are too large to use with the Aires seat (They would have to be "stupid" small to fit and kind of pointless to print) but, I will definitely be using the ACES II logo. jmel
Paint shop logos aren't forgotten by me. If it was on the jet, it is included in the sheet. I have a TON of stuff on the 23rd, from all eras. Some of them had really nice mission markings after Desert Storm, and I shot four last month with impressive mission markings from a recent deployment to Afghanistan. Which placards are too big? Is the Aires seat smaller than the kit seat? Or did I just totally mess up? 1. Is the Aires seat smaller than the kit seat? Or did I just totally mess up? Here is what I have Jake and I am sorry I didn't even think to compare with the kit seats for either the Italeri or Hobby Boss kits. The Aires seat may be smaller. I have additional kits of both A-10's so I will have a look. The ACES II badging is in the same register as the one's included with the Afterburner sheet I have but, yours have the additional writing and appear sharper with richer color in my opinion. Cartograph is just "right up there" with awesomeness! They may be slightly large but, so are Afterburners. Some things in 1/48 need a little exaggeration if you are going to do tiny details otherwise they are just lost to scale and not worth trying to print. Kind of the way I feel about doing the black stripes on the ejection handles! I tried anyway and relatively succeded. I wouldn't be able to tell you if you "just messed up." I may really love details on model kits but, I have no clue when it comes to measurements. If you are scaling them with photo software to 1/48 scale how could they be wrong!? That would be based from 1/1 measurments though? I just am ignorant to that sort of thing. I have the concept but, not the desire! Haha. I am sorry I can't help you there. I just tend to look at something to determine if it's right or not. Which F-15 kit did you use as the base example? Maybe the seats for it are a bit larger? Thanks for the tease on the 23rd! I am a 23rd NERD! Haha. Although I don't know which FW would sell the most sheets. Robert Sanchez told me it took forever to sell all of his Shark Bait decals when he had them for sale. I am not trying to "sink" my own desires but, I know this is a business too. Another thing I am ignorant of! Haha. Edited February 28, 2015 by taggor
taggor
I really like both examples that you have presented here. The commerative D-Day scheme with the Euro I is nice!
jmel
I don't have a 1/48 AIRES seat to compare, but the Eagle decals were sized to the Hasegawa kit. I can't say if the kit seat is differently sized than an aftermarket. That may be the problem, or it could very well be that I messed up. I don't scale down the artwork or compare to the real artwork on an actual jet. I try to size it to fit the model in question, because nearly every kit deviates from reality in some manner, so, in my opinion, I'm better off making my decals fit the kit can conforming 100% to true size and/or shape. I simply carefully measure the kit and size my decal artwork appropriately. Sometimes, however, that may screw me up, as could be what is happening here. I no longer have a hasegawa Eagle kit here to check my seat measurements, but I'll compare them to a Tamiya F-16 for quick reference. With regards to the Pope/Moody Hogs, and TwoBobs, Bob has been in the decal business long enough to have a good grasp on what will sell and what won't. However, I hope to offer a mix of jets that appeal to a wide audience and maybe please everyone. I've had to take a break for a few days from decal-drawing to finish up some magazine articles, but I'll have more Hog profiles soon.
taggor
No worries Jake. Thanks for the info on the decals. I might add that Bob had mentioned the sale of the Shark Bait sheet sales were slow regarding the reprint he did of them. I was inquiring with him on an additional reprint of the sheet. So the 23rd is still a seller! Haha. Just maybe not a second reprint! Looking forward to more drawings of hogs and hopefully some decals in the future!
