Falconxlvi
Greetings to all, I've been working on this A-10 for the past few days...kit is very frustrating. Several parts were warped and the fit is atrocious at best. Oh well...need to work on my finishing skills anyways. This kit is going to serve as a testbed for my first attempts at pre/post shading techniques. Here's the cockpit (OOB):
Falconxlvi
Case in point about the fit - the intakes are totally vexing! Here's a pic post putty and sanding...in the end I am not satisfied...I'm going to make intake covers for this thing. Any tips on how to do that?

Falconxlvi
In the end I decided to close the decelerons. Here's the Hog with in primer with some brown sharpie pen on for preshading. I am trying to see if I can make up for the lack of rescribing panel lines by pre and post shading this bird:
Falconxlvi
Here she is after the first night of painting. This is just the first coat of Lt Ghost Gray...I'll put the dark ghost gray on tomorrow. I went back with some lightened paint to post shade. Unfortunately, I got a little carried away, so I will have to go back and fix some of the panels where I got a little trigger happy with my airbrush. I may even try to go over the panel lines again with some darkened paint to fix my errors tonight.
David Walker
The paint looks great so far. Keep us posted.
JohnG
Wow! I've always had bad results with the sharpie method, so I avoided it in favor of airbrushing the pre-shading. But you make it look great! Good job!
