No luck so far? There aren't many detailed pics available that I can find, but here are the sites with the most as far as pictures go:

http://members.aon.at/mwade/f20foto.htm

http://www.californiasailplanes.com/Real%20F-20.htm - the closest thing you'll ever get to a walkaround, most likely

http://cybermodeler.com/aircraft/northrop/tigergphoto.shtml

Apart from that, go to Airliners.net and punch "F-20" into the search. You'll get a few high-quality shots, but nothing too detailed.

Anyway, here's one last pic I think you'll particularly enjoy:

Hope this helps. :(

Oh how I wish I knew back when I was growing up what I know now. I was digging through my old airshow pictures from Syracuse, NY. There was the F-20 demonstrator in all its' glory. Unfortunately, it's a simple snapshot, and it's tucked between an A-7D and an A-37. Still a cool shot, though.

I recall it actually had a slighty different pitch in sound compared to a Hornet , a little higher ...

Probably a result of the different intakes ... The plane looked very smooth and seemed to transition very easily, wherever the pilot wanted to point it, he didn't seem to have a problem ... I remember at Miramar, a few of the TOP GUN instructors were drooling over it and already calling it a "Gomershark" ... They all thought it would be cool to bounce Tomcat and Hornet drivers in it while they thought it was just standard F-5Es ...

In that case, I'd just suggest tracking down pics of F-5s decked out in a similar way. There are some good ones in the walkaround section on the main site. I think it's a safe bet to go with those.

I noticed the F-20 has some different pylons, thats why I was interested in doing a bit of research, I need to order the FAOW issue on the F-5 and F-20, I just really need to do it. :D

Nice links. The F-20 has always been a particular favorite of mine and such a sleek looking plane. From what I've read of it, it was a little but tough thoroughbred.

Talk of this old chestnut brings me out of exile

A couple years back it was suggested that the creature on the center line there is a bomblet or flare dispenser of some kind, Vesper. I don't remember the designation.

As for more photos, Lucio, the guy who made the F-20 homepage has since moved his operation to www.f20a.com. I'm surprised he still has the pre-update site up, but the new version has a ton more photos. They're mostly in-flight shots and pictures of various dignitaries, but enough detail manages to sneak in there to make some of them useful for references. There's still very little in the way of a walkaround with closeups of the cockpit apart from that photo of the mockup.

That aside, you can get away with using the F-5E landing gear as a reference, as well as the Stencel S-III-S ejection seat from the Harrier. Keep in mind, though, that the first prototype at least had the same seat and canopy as the F-5E; all that newer stuff was in the second and third prototypes.

I hear ya Brother, although I did make an effort. Back in the day, I subscribed to AW&ST, which contained a ton of stuff about the F-20 as it was in its peak of development and marketing. Being a weekly magazine, they quickly piled up so I took to tearing out pages with interesting stuff, including much about the Tigershark (Including Northrup's ads) . . . photos of many parts of the plane, articles, etc, and put them in a box. Now, where the box is remains a mystery, haven't seen it in over a decade.
