andrew.deboer
In the home stretch now! This is Hasegawa's 1/48 F-14D with an Aires cockpit and TwoBobs decals, supplemented by decals from a couple of Fightertown sheets. Several decals left to apply, pilot figure is still headless, and flat coat remains to apply. Anybody want to guess what will be different about this particular model? Janissary
Anybody want to guess what will be different about this particular model? No canopy, no RIO! Looking good!
Joel_W
Honestly, I couldn't tell you. But your painting, decaling, and weathering are outstanding. Joel
Janissary
Joel, I think Andrew is going for this: http://www.vfp62.com/F14_RIO.html Great subject and great execution so far.
dnl42
Outstanding!! I love it!!

Sledge
Going for a wings out stance? Don't see one very often.
andrew.deboer
Well, when your RIO unexpectedly punches out high over Nevada, leaving you flying the Tomcat in "ragtop" mode, you wanna slow down: wings out, speed brakes out, motors back to idle... I took some artistic license with the boards; they aren't out in the photos, but I figure he must have used them at some point!
andrew.deboer
This months theme for our model club was "On A Stick". If it had not been for that time pressure, I never would have gotten this done. Just a couple of things remain: canopy breakers, GPS dome, formation lights under the wings, a detail wash on the exhaust nozzles...
Manuel J. Armas S.
Nice idea, i like it...
Joel_W
Andrew, Really a very unusual concept, but you pulled it off quite well. Nicely painted & decaled. Your weathering is most realistic of an operational F-14D. Joel
Skinny_Mike
Great idea! Model looks amazing! Great job.
crackerjazz
Your paintjob/weathering is so realistic! Just read the article too - that was very interesting.
