HomagerMan
And I thought detailing a 1/144 birdd was bad James
The_Animal
;) Zactoman...detailing a 1/350???? That's beyond insane. Are you planning on wrecking your eyesight??? I hope to heck you've got a good magnifier lamp or something. BTW Nice detailing on the cockpit. Some people will find that inspirational (RIGHT??? RAYMOND!!!?) but I think I'll stay away from the smaller scales. :D
aidy
could this be the point where people start requesting zactomodels' 1/350 scale su-27 correction sets?
jrallman
how did you do the canopy?
I.Illes
Basically, it´s quite simple! You take a picture of the coin or bottlecap, then you take some pictures of a 1/32 Flanker (a bit blurry, so noone will notice that it´s the Trumpeter kit), a bit of Photoshop and that´s it. Version "B" (I like this theory even more!) : that is the total conversion kit from Zactomodels, which enables you to make a 1/350 kit from a Trumpeter 1/32 by adding some resin and PE István Chris, still, that´s about the most impressive detail work I´ve seen so far, even if Richy and Pierre are awesome! skuki
Chris, and what about the intakes, will you make new ones? ;) :(

virsago_mk2
I bet you're using microscope and a piece of hair to paint that

What is Photoshop? Are you some kind of dwarf? Hobbit?I'm 6'2" and I can palm a basketball in each hand! Are you planning on wrecking your eyesight??? I hope to heck you've got a good magnifier lamp or something.I'm using a flip-down visor with 3X magnifiers, and lots of good light.I bet you're using microscope and a piece of hair to paint thatActually I've been using a 2/0 sable brush with a very sharp tip.I also use oil paint for all the tiny details. It stays wet on the brush long enough to do the tiny stuff. Acrylics or enamels in quantities that small tend to dry by the time I've got my brush positioned. I used the clear film on the front of the box to thermoform the canopy. It's about .004" thick. I took the kit canopy and sanded it down a bit, polished it a little and glued it to a strip of plastic to hold it. I heated the clear film over a candle and pulled it over the pattern. I will be correcting the intakes, adding landing gear doors, and missiles and pylons I think. I probably won't pre-shade, but rather post-shade... Here are a few 1/4000 scale Mig-29s I decided to build this afternoon! :o
