  1. This article has a method for correcting the wings: http://hsfeatures.com/b52had_1.htm Jonah
  2. So here’s a data point I got from a friend who is a B-52 expert that might help with deciphering the photos: the subject of the Wolfpak sheet, 57-6520, was the only 34 BS jet painted 36118, the remaining jets were all 36081. From everything I’ve seen of current Hs, like the one in the Airliners.net photo you linked, only the stabilizers carry walkway stripes, which clearly look black to me. I don’t know how well that translates back to 6520 in the early 90s, other than I don’t think I’ve ever seen a 36118 jet with national insignia & stenciling in any color other than black.
  3. Dutch, By virtue of the AGM-142s under the wing, I'm fairly confident these images are of a 34 BS jet. http://www.airforce-technology.com/projects/b52/attachment/b527/ http://www.airforce-technology.com/projects/b52/attachment/b529/ Not the best pictures, but it is discernable that the walkway stripes along the spine are darker than the overall aircraft color. Of the two Warbirds options, black is probably the better answer, but based on the limited contrast in the photo and overall faded appearance of the jet, you might get the best
  4. That is the "strategic" scheme applied during the 80s; it followed the "SIOP" scheme (tan/green over white) and preceded the overall FS 36081. It's 36081 with 34086 splotches on the top & sides and 36118 splotches on the bottom. The 34086 tended to fade towards brown. Many of the Desert Storm jets wore this scheme. Great choice for the sheet! Jonah
  5. I found a set of US flags of various sizes, I believe it was by Microscale. I cut a piece of aluminum foil to match the size of the flag decal. I shaped the foil to fit on the glare shield, test fitting the windscreen as I went. I then painted the foil white, and then the decal went on. Jonah
  6. Will look forward to this; seems ripe for both 1/72 & 1/144! Jonah
  7. As best I recall there is a tiny bit of raised detail on the AMT hatches; I sanded that off and cut the hatch lifters from .01" styrene. I rounded the corners off based on photos, and then added more strips of styrene to represent the parallel braces. A rectangle cut to fit between the braces finished it off. I think the upper hatches took 6 pieces of plastic each: the main lifter, the smaller rectangle between the braces, and 2 strips for each brace. Same thing for the lower hatches, except I cut them to fit around the EVS fairings. Not the best quality photos, but
  8. There were some in the Cutting Edge resin conversions. I don’t recall ever seeing a set of just the hatches. I used sheet styrene to replicate the hatch lifters and it turned out ok. Jonah
  9. I prefer the Revell G/H, but that's partly because I model the 1980s-present timeframe, which is much better represented by Revell. Like the 1/72 AMT kits, they represent a late 80s fit, most notably with the EVS & ECM mods. The G includes stub pylons with AGM-84 (though it also features the ALCM/SALT wing root fairing) while the H includes external AGM-86. It's much better detailed overall. The base Minicraft kit represents the H as originally produced, with none of the EVS/ECM mods. The boxings have included decal options for the natural metal over white as well as the gr
  10. Overall the Revell G/H kits are quite nice in my opinion; the biggest issue is with the windscreen. The framing around the center window is way overscale. Jonah
  11. I like the KC-135/B-52 combo idea. Jonah
  12. From Tamiya accessories set 35141: https://www.scalemates.com/kits/104343-tamiya-35141-modern-u-s-accessory-set Looking for just the pads, shown between the two road wheels. Thanks Jonah
  13. Ok thanks, good info. Jonah
  14. Ok thanks for the info Dave, I'll try the EE kit. Do you know if there is a specific variant or boxing I should look for to get the intake trunking? Jonah
  15. The reviews I've seen are mixed on these kits; of the 737-100/200, MD-87, 757-200, MD-11, and L-1011, how would you rank them in terms of fit and accuracy? Jonah
  16. In terms of fit and accuracy, is the Eastern Express kit the way to go, or is one of the older kits still better? I've seen Airfix and Revell/Advent versions, anything else out there? Thanks Jonah
  17. Looking good Don. I've built 5 of these and enjoyed the straightforward assembly. Jonah
  18. I'm in for this one, and will also buy if scaled down. Jonah
