Thanks mate, I guess i'll have to hurry up and get my Countach finished, keep the collection growing;) Denzil
  2. If you feel like scratchbuilding (or detailing if a kit ever eventuates) and want any pictures, drop me a line, Caravans are my bread and butter. Here's the latest to come out of the workshop. Converted from Cargomaster to Caravan, new interior new engine and C of A: Denzil
  3. G'day Tony, I use Tamiya fine polish for all of my clear stuff, and it's worked for me in exactly the application you've mentioned. I use the Tamiya stuff as all purpose polish, and find it to be really handy stuff to have around. Also, i've had success with 'Brasso' (was polishing the foil, and some went on the canopy. When i polished the Brasso off, it took off the BMF adhesive residue too. Might be a bit too coarse for clear bits though because either the Brasso or the cloth i was using left scratch marks in the canopy.) Good luck, Denzil
  4. Haha, thats a great call Pete! maybe Trumpeter's 'Mad Riveter' should get a hold of one of their own tools! I've got one, and am happy with it. Much easier than trying to hand drill eleventy-billion little holes in a straight line. Works well on plastic and on baremetal foil. If you just want a representation of fasteners, or want to add a bit of 'interest' to big open panels, than i say go for it. Best of all, they're bloody cheap (Unusual for something with a Trumpeter logo on it....) ! Denzil

    Tamiya 1/24 cars

Howdy all, thanks for the kind words. HOLMES and Luke, I didn't even notice that they were all silvers! Just coincidence, i just go with whatever colour i reckon looks best on the particular car. That and German cars should always be silver of some sort (Just as Italians should be red, frenchies blue and Brits green. I'll do the next XJ220 in BRG) I've started painting with nail-polish, so i forsee some bright colours being used in the future. Wayne S- i hear you about the RHD dash. Would be great if they did both dashboards for all their cars. Also doesn't help that I'm just too lazy to bo
  6. Howdy all, Here are a few of my first car builds.I'm still getting the hang of a consistent pait finish (reminds me why i usually build nice Matt aircraft ) All Tamiya 1/24th kits Porsche Carerra GT Mercedes McLarren SLR Jaguar XJ200 (My favorite car in the whole wide world! I'll have to make a few more of these when my painting skills pick up) I love these kits, great 'Quick' builds between big projects. Denzil

  9. I picked one up for about 10 bucks AUS, and i find it perfectly acceptable. couple of different wheels for different spacing. i find it very easy to use. I use it to add a bit of 'texture' to empty panels. I've used it on plastic and bare metal foil with pleasing results. to avoid entering into the rivets/ no rivets debate, all i have to say is: If you're happy for your model to look good on the shelf, this thing is fine. If you want 100% accuracy, this rivet wheel is not for you. Denzil
  10. One of the Army's fancy Tigers at Toowoomba. did circuits for about an hour.
