  2. Try this Alf. When you mask, before you spray the black give the area a shot of the yellow. If there is any bleed it will match. After its dry then shoot the black. There should be no bleed at all. Hopefully that helps. James
  3. Alf, another way to mask (works well I think) is to cut the tape about 1/8 inch wide. Mask like normal but because of the width you can make all sorts of wavy shapes etc. Then use wider tape to fill in the blanks. James
  4. Beautiful work Alf. Your doing an awesome job on the old girl. And thiose pics of Baden and area sure bring back memories. Looking forward to your fiished Tiger. Oh and its hard to tell but I think the tank on the bunker is a Firefly 1c or a Sherman Mk V. The gate guard is a Chaffee. The Sherman wasnt there when I was in Germany and most of the bunkers on our side of the river where blown up. Ohh and the Alt Schloss also brings back memories. Did you go to the pink palace also? James
  5. I've read this a few times and finally decided to say my 2 cents. Watching the film over and over my best guess is engine failure right engine. Throttles advanced left causing nose to yaw right, cutting of the air to right wing (to be technical disrupting the airflow). Loss of lift on right wing causing aircraft to crash. Thats my armchair general take on it. Key notes Pilot was very good and assessed situation and protected the most vital thing on the jet. Himself. To say pilot error is crass and shows a lack. Bird strike, dont think so, but I wasnt there and dont know the situation. If we w
  6. This sucks man. Have you looked to see if DoD is hiring anyone with your quals? Up here in the Great White North Calian subcontracts services to DND. http://bts.calian.com/en/career_jobs/Searc...amp;search.y=11 Maybe there is something up here? Best of luck. James
  7. C- Canadian F- Fighter H- Helicopter C- Cargo T- Trainer P- Patrol 3 digit number- 104 =104, F-5= 116, F-18= 188 etc So CF-188, CP-140, CT-114 etc Hornet would be okay but French translation is Frelon which was also a French helicopter so no official designation given. Hornet is the official unofficial name. HTH James
  8. Just completed a very nice transaction with r0t0rdr1ver. Rated number 1 in my book. As a bonus Canada Post managed to get a parcel to me in a day. Never thought I'd see that. James
  9. A couple of more for you Ian James
  10. This might show up well enough to see what happened to F4
  11. And more. I only took 189 shots so this is the sample. James
  12. Some more You dont see this every day
  13. Well wasnt impressed with security and was the turnout ever small this year. At least IU got in and out before it got too cold. So for your viewing pleasure. James
  14. I've never tried the Tamiya product but love Tenax. Never had a problem with joints. It does evaporate way too fast though. Is the Tamiya stuff like testers?? James
  15. I'm not sure if it will attack the applicator but I dont think I would do that. I have seen one guy glue a square of plastic on the bottom of the bottle to make the base bigger and another who used a cup and filled it with plaster then inserted the bottle. After that he just refilled the bottle. One biggy though if you've never used it before, dont leave the lid off overnight. If you do you wont have to worry about spilling it. It will evaporate. HTH James
  16. Very cool. I'm looking forward to seeing her done. I love the big smoky old girl. James
  17. Let me put him right back with this notice of yet another excellent trade. What more can I say. James
  18. I'd buy anything to make a 1/32 CF-104 single and that could be used to improve the TAC dual conversion. So anything Canadian in 1/32. Decals would be nice also. If so I guess eventually I'd be looking at 1 dual and several singles. James
  19. I hope he's joking. I've built 1 single and have the dual and 2 other singles to build, one as the glass nosed variant. Have no idea what the flaw is unless its a tail sitter. You do need weight in the nose. James PS I've never heard anyone complain about it before.
  20. Thanks all for the help. Looking for panit now, not sure what I want to use. Again thanks. James
  21. As one project is winding down I have a desire to build a Maachi 200. What colour is the cockpit? Do you have a recommendation for an out of the jar colour? Also are the wheel wells the same colour? Thanks in advance for any help. PS anyone know of some good refs I might look for? James

The green 4. I got it place and everything looked right. Put the settling agent on and itcontorted into a ball that I could not un ravel. Took it off and next day used the other green 4. Now I have to wait for one to do the right side. Nothing serious but very aggrevating. James
  23. That is very cool. What unit are you planning to make it? James
