Xtracolor...color matching, but not as we know it...
Felix Lucius replied to UKPonchoMan's topic in Jet Modeling
Colours vary from batch to batch. If you ask any model paint manufacturer for colours from the same batch you have no problem, they're guaranteed to be the same. Over even an hour on the mixing table paint will vary from each batch. It happens the world and company over. If you're worried about it, mix the two colour together in a larger container and you'll have something in between -
If you have to adjust them why not scratch them? Use either putty or wine bottle foil. Putty is best because you can scribe creases very easily. Putty is very cheap as well.

It's possible to FEAST on buckwheat, I JEST not! -
Atak model ftw. Either that or make your own. There are several tools and punches on sale from various places if you google search it. You can also go to your local watch repair shop and ask if they have a spare sprocket wheel with the correct tooth width. Should be free. Just affix this to a home made handle. Google search "applying zimmerit" theres loads of articles.

:) congrats Try the spares section next time, might get a better response. Although I hope there isnt a next time though hehe. Best of luck.

Need some pics to show front of F-4 wing tanks
Felix Lucius replied to chuck540z3's topic in Jet Modeling
Hi Chuck, As you rightly know, the SUU-21 dispensers have a "hollowed out" bay area that stores the practice bombs before deployment. I am sure that I've seen a picture of a banking F-4 with these fitted and the insides of one were painted white and the other was left in a metal sheen finish. Would like nice on your model to have a non symmetrical look. I'll try and find the picture I saw and either link or post it. Great job on the Phantom anyway! -

Looks really great! Orion Models once did a det cord in vinyl which was awesome. You might want to send a message to Dave Roof of Orion Models to see if you can get hold of them. If not - try on the "Spares Box" section of the forum. What did you use for the chaff and flares? MV lens for the nose light? Looks good - well done!!!!!

Building a 1/32 Tamiya F-15C and looking for aftermarket
Felix Lucius replied to MasterJedi's topic in Jet Modeling
Why don't you visit a webshop like Hannants or Sprue Brothers and do a search for 1/32 F-15. That will give you ideas on what is currently available. http://www.hannants.co.uk/search/index.php?adv=1&product_category_id=&product_division_id=&manufacturer_id=&product_type_id=&code=&scale_id=953&keyword_search=F-15&setPerPage=25&save_search_name=&save_search= Good luck finding aything other than Aires right now. Like Aaron said - two mikes soon - good hunting! -
Use dymo tape as it is thick enough to take some damage when going over it with the riveter and not rivet underneath. Use a thin width dymo so it will conform to curves. Did you bother to search this forum under "rivet" "rivetting" "scribing" - sometimes self help is good too :)
