  1. Correct, 2x B-8M (or UB-32) pods and 2x RBK-250 (or RBK-500) cassettes or 4x S-24 Pair of fuel tanks - optional, but within MTOW for both variants, depending on outside temperature Or you may go for recce role with KKR-1/2 container, another widely used variant in Afghanistan
  2. In fact, none. Guided A2G missiles were quite rare occasions during Afghan war as such and were mostly used by Su-25 (Kh-25 and Kh-29 both laser guided) The reason behind were the flaws of Projector container (short range compared to the missile range) Su-17 in Afghanistan was the king of unguided munitions B)
  3. There is a PD version displayed at Central Armed Forces museum in Moscow, can't remember if it has its engines in place or not http://airmuseum.ru/wp-content/gallery/cmaf/mig25.jpg
  4. http://www.foxbat.ru/maks/maks2005/sukhoi/index.php?picid=sukhoi029 It didn't make further than full size mockup, afaik.

  6. Wasn't it a standard camo for export Fencers? Two-tone brown with light blue undersides? Try searching Su-24MK, there is plenty of pictures on the net.
  7. Hi, John Can't help with details, but I've read somewhere that Yugoslavia had a locally modified recon nose installation, which obviously differed from "standard" RT-33. Besides, to make things more obscure, Yugoslavia had several TV-2 Seastar airframes, very similar to T-33, basically navalized version of it. Which is the case with 10024 in your photo - not clear :) Dmitry
  8. it's been already quite some time that i'm chasing the history of the camo scheme shown (2210 red, Noi Bai airbase, 929th squadron)with the same question - is it real or more "what if" type. short report of the findings so far: -the initial batch of Beagles (8 il-28, 2 il-28R, 2 Il-28U) for 929th bomb. sq. were produced by aviation factory #39 in Irkutsk, Russia. It's interesting that the official web-site of this factory shows in its history section the profile of the same airframe - 2210 red in similar camo scheme, which makes the story even more puzzling. I even wrote an e-mail to the fa
  9. This might be helpful: http://rusplane.ru/images/mig9/9chi2.gif most probably the museum's artwork, I would guess that initially all-grey airframe was locally overpainted with olive green spots, which later resulted in "official" museum colour scheme Regards, Dmitry
