  1. Great job Gary :thumbsup:/> You should be very proud! I love those nozzles... I gather that the "rings" are the natural color of the FP PE metal after annealing it :hmmm:/> ? /Jesse
  2. Thank you Anzo /> Yes this is a super detailed Strike Eagle and hopefully it'll be done by 2020 /> Hey no problem Chuck... That's what this thread is for! I ordered some Alclad red & blue so I was pondering the thought of some very subtle salt weathering tricks when I receive shipment /> We shall see what happens.... The thing I have going for me is that I have a home made photo tent set up (permanently), so I can simply take the shots without messing around... not as good as your's, but always a white background I think I'm up to 5 lights by now /> Thanks again Chuck />
  3. Hello Hornet97... Hope yer Navy bird projects are going well. Thank you for your vote of confidence Here are some new pics of the nozzles... It seems that I could still do more :hmmm:/> I am open to suggestions here guys.... Maybe I need to order some Alclad II hot blue and hot red to maybe add a bit more interest to the doughnuts ;)/> so for now this is where they stand until I come up with a new plan!!! Maybe this looks more better than before.... Or maybe I need to introduce a new metal color variant. Maybe it's fine the way it is.... I seem to have
  4. Thanks for the huge compliment Patrick :thumbsup:/> i will post new pics later today! Thanks for the info ghatherly, I will definitely do a bit of research then look into either the Isracast set or some scratch building work :rolleyes:/> /Jesse
  5. Thanks for the great info ghatherly! I've never seen the CE set but I really gotta hand it to you for doing the FP set... you must be insane!!!! And thanks for the heads up on the side cooling air scoop :thumbsup:/> I appreciate the very constructive criticism Chuck, I agree that after I saw these pics, deep down I knew the doughnuts were just too dang gold I think I can come up with a good solution.... I feel that it's necessary to keep a very subtle amount of gold tint, but I plan to add some more aluminum to the majority of the rings to tone it all down. Then a quick swipe with the h
  6. Finally... The nozzles are all painted up and ready for inspection :woot.gif:/> Mainly Alclad II paints are used as well as some enamels.... All different techniques were used to apply the paint (airbrush, paintbrush, drybrush) Pastel washes and Tamiya weathering sets were used to add further weathering :rolleyes:/> One thing about the Alclad Gold Titanium.... you can barely see the gold tint while or after you are finished spraying the color.... but beware, when you lay down the gloss coat, this stuff turns bright azz Gold!!!! Just figured I'd get it out ther
  7. Hello friends! Sorry for the lack of updates on this Mudhen build, but the nozzles have proven to be a huge undertaking and definitely not for the faint of heart!!! i figure that over 150 parts have been added to EACH nozzle.... although I'm not complaining, since I really enjoyed putting it all together one piece at a time!!! Tamiya includes the 100/200 engines which are not accurate for any of the later Strike Eagles I figure life's too short to worry about it, so here they are after various Alclad II paints and some Tamiya weathering kits were used to represent discoloration from
  8. Unbelievable work Chuck. I envy yer ability to make those perfectly clean cuts on the vacuform canopy..... Not an easy task, but you mastered it on yer first try :clap2:/> Most impressive! /Jesse
  9. Marcel, did I happen to mention that your building and painting skills are off the charts? Those Paveways and exhausts are astonishing to say the least! AMS resin will have to thank you for bringing them a new customer :thumbsup:/> /Jesse
  10. Amazing attention to detail :thumbsup:/> I would like to replicate what you've done on the MLG bays on my current Mudhen build... Great work! /Jesse
  11. Things are looking fabulous indeed MH, I'd say the weathering looks great so far :thumbsup:/> The details you are adding to the inside will be totally stunning after the fuse is closed up and the lighting is turned on.... Keep up the great progress! /Jesse
  12. Great job with the white paint job Janne :thumbsup:/> A very unique jet indeed... Thanks for sharing! /Jesse
  13. Wow Chuck!!! The flying tank is really looking great!!! Boy that's gotta be one of the busiest airframes around... You've really took on a huge project this time, looks like you have a good handle on it though! It looks like a whole new kit, great scribing job and genius idea for the raised rivets... :popcorn:/> Sorry to hear about the flooding, praying for everyone who lost their homes and loved ones. /Jesse
  14. Nice work Janne :thumbsup:/> I like the faded camo that Viper's wearing :banana:/> and the sniper pod really makes it look mean :evil-laughter:/> /Jesse
  15. Thank you Marcel I ended up doing a 4th pouring session.... It should be fine now I appreciate yer kind words Janne :D/> Thank you Mike :)/> Great to hear from ya, I appreciate it!!! Hi Ghatherly... I didn't realize that the FP kit was too long as well!!! It might be difficult to find these TM nozzles since he has taken a hiatus for the time being Of course it might be just as easy to assemble the kit nozzles then chop the 3/16" out from there.... Thanks for the kind words :cheers:/> /Jesse
  16. Thank you very much Chuck Yeah, I already have 3 layers of paint in the cans... I'm afraid to do another coat because the paint is getting pretty thick As for the photography, I learned from the master himself :thumbsup:/> Thanks Patrick, glad you like all the work to this point.... I figure about 45 more bits per nozzle to add yet :doh:/> I really couldn't imagine building the Flightpath nozzle kit, that would be a real challenge guys!
  17. As you can see, the kits inner burner cans will have a huge seam down each side! The latex pour & dump method which is usually used on intakes was used on my burner cans. I was feeling much too lazy to putty the seam and then try to clean up the mess.... So here's how it turned out: I'm hoping that after soot and filters are added, the seam line will be difficult to see I knew that the nozzles were gonna be a lot of work, which is why I decided to do them now, while I still have lots of love for this build!!! It'll be nice to have some of these "mini
  18. Good evening boys & girls.... I wish I had more time to work on the Mudhen, but the nice weather here just won't allow it Plus, the work on the nozzles can be a bit tedious... so I can only handle short sessions at a time!!! Here is the Two Mikes resin exhaust set.... with the Eduard exterior set to add some depth to the nozzles. So far I've added 75 pieces per nozzle... and there's a lot more bits to add!!! I opted to use the Eduard PE for the push rods that connect to the linkages (sorry about the poor terminology)... For the linkages, I stuck with the ki
  19. Patrick- are you feeling alright man? This sure is a funny looking Strike Eagle :P/> All jokes aside, yer off to a great start and I look forward to seeing more progress :thumbsup:/> /Jesse
  20. Patrick, you have done a top quality job on this Beagle :thumbsup:/> The photography is very very nice to look at as well! Outstanding work, looks like a 32nd build with all the details :sunrevolves:/> /Jesse
  21. Thank you my friend, I have high hopes for this Beagle ;)/> Thank you Patrick! I will very much be looking forward to yer 32nd F-15C build /Jesse
  22. I'm at a loss for words... Outstanding work, it's a masterpiece :worship:/> /Jesse
  23. Brilliant work Marcel :worship:/> That exhaust modification is pure genius.... Getting oh so close to the end now :thumbsup:/> /Jesse
  24. Thanks for the suggestion ghatherly :thumbsup:/> That is a very good idea as well.... If I don't succeed with the dump/pour method, I will definitely try yer way. The main reason for doing the dump/pour method is simply because I'm feeling a bit lazy /Jesse
