.....looks fantastic! Dragan, how did you do the exhaust stain/metal bluing? I have not had any luck doing mine that nicely.
-
Sweet! Uh, what differences?

The one in Wanamaker is Wanamaker Guns. Yes, it's a hobby shop and gun shop (not that bad, I hear in Tennessee there's a combo gun and barber shop)! He sells mostly armor kits though. I've never heard of Whistle Growls - I take it that's a train shop? Of course, there's also Hobby Lobby. Hey, how about an ARC get-together when you guys are here?

There are two Hobbytowns, one in Greenwood (7765 S US 31, Indianapolis, IN 46227) and the other in Castleton (8326 Castleton Corner Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46250). The Castleton one is the larger of the two and has a better selection. For mom-and-pop stores, there is Big Boy Hobbies (8893 Pendleton Pike, Indianapolis, IN 46226) that has a small selection but great prices. On the west side there is Big Four Hobbies (1005 E Main St, Plainfield, IN 46168) that has a good variety but prices can be inconsistent (some items are close to or at retail, though there are a couple of decent prices too

Trumpeter ... what's about some previews in 1/72 ? ...
Supertom replied to Deino's topic in Jet Modeling
It probably wouldn't sell well, but I'd sure wish I could build a Shenyang J-8 in 1/72 (the one that looks like a giant MiG-21). Also, a Nanchang Q-5. -
I've got a hard time trying to figure out the colors. Is it just me or does it almost look like dark green uppers and what appears to be WW2-vintage USSR underside blue?
-
Hi all, I'm going to try vacuforming my own canopies. What kind of sheet do I use? The Evergreen stuff doesn't seem quite right.
-
Yes! Holy crap man! I haven't heard from you since graduation!

1/72 build with a mix of cars....WMU signature...living in Maryland....Dave Fuller? Is that you?
-
Me! Me!!! Me!!!!! It looks like the intake fit will be a bit tricky.

I'd place my bet on either a new Tu-22 or Il-76.

No problem with that, I'll be modeling a Luftwaffe Tornado (45+57, AG51 "Immelmann") deployed over Afghanistan circa 2007.
-
Hi Scott, Thanks! Yes, it's the EADS pod. I take it that it is no longer in use?
-
Hi Scott, Thanks for the comparison. Also, shortly after I read this I find ANOTHER picture, this time with a different pod. Agh! The one I saw was with a RecceLite. So what DOES the Luftwaffe use on their Afghanistan Tornados?
-
Hi all, Is it just me or is the Rafael RECCELITE pod pretty much a LITENING pod with different guts? The reason I'm asking is that I've got decals to make a Luftwaffe Tornado deployed to Afghanistan and I understand that Luftwaffe Tornados are used for reconnaisance (and I believe they use RECCELITE). Thanks for any clues/pointers!

Hi everyone, I'm about to start on my 1/72 Hobbycraft Rafale B when I realized that it has its own pylon for mounting GBU-12s - a Rafaut AT730 - does anyone know if a 1/72 aftermarket set is made for it, or if decent pictures are available of the entire pylon? I've only been able to get front and 3/4 views (obstructed with loads). thank you!
-
Hi Charles, As far as I know, there isn't a conversion. Trumpeter makes a -C right out of the box. Look for Kit #1613. I suppose if the differences are close enough you could make a new nose out of putty, and I believe there's a company out of Russia that does 1/72 cruise missiles. Supposedly the nose shape is off but it looks good to me (but then again I've always been in the school of "close enough").

Hi everyone, Would anyone tell me when the USAF font transitioned to the 45° angle on the number 5 as opposed to the 90°? I'm trying to create a decal for a circa 1972 C-130. Thank you!
-
Wait - on the 3rd and 4th color photo, the nose looks like gray - but the 7th photo of the A looks like a gloss black nose - that's odd!
