  1. Lookin' good. And agreed about the oxygen masks :) Take care, Austin
  2. Plus AH-64's have inserted some folks before... now that would make a cool dio... Matt, thanks! And interesting info on the commanche... Sounds like you could probably use really thin wires (i.e. guitar string cores, etc) to make the net, doubling as a support for the helo, and there is a 1/72 commanche model... Anyways, I haven't updated for a little bit. I added the CMWS to the UH-60. It intended for the hasegawa kit, which apparently has a thinner vertical tail than italeri. I didn't know that until I cut everything out for the new tail piece. Figures ready for paint... And for
  3. You don't need to get the other sets. EIBF didn't get introduced for a while. IIRC, OIF 1 birds still had M-60D's as door guns, and didn't have the beefed up common missile warning system. The seats are removable, so they could be in or out. Best way is to find a pic of a 101st bird from 2003 and go with it. The crew is 4, and the gear would be similar between all 4 crewman. HTH, Austin
  4. And a little more on blackhawks. Dunno how I found this, but it's fairly interesting... Source Take care, Austin
  5. I'm guessing they are different, not sure why the Army and Air Force would exchange airframes... Another interesting point, is the HH-60D appears to have an offset FLIR. The MH-60K rigged for testing in the 'h-60 blackhawk in action' book looks like it's serial number is 2**94. The ** I can't make out, but maybe an 61? The profile in that book is of MH-60K 26194 (they have a clear pic of it too in the book, but without the testing equipment). And then in the 'H-60 walkaround' the profile is 26378, but no picture to back it up. And just for fun, here's the tail numbers from 1/72 kits :)
  6. Interesting. Inspired, I quested across google in search of more pics of this bird. I found these two... from here from here Would the terrain following radar-less hawks in the USAF, such as the one below, be considered an HH-60A? from here Take care, Austin
  7. My condolences, glad to see you are doing better. Take care, Austin
  8. Looking forward to seeing how you do this. I'd like to replicate it in 1/72 eventually for at least one build. Take care, Austin
  9. Knex is tight. Despite being more of a legos kid, they remind me of free body diagrams... Take care, Austin
  10. Lookin' good. Kinda surprised to see you building something non-helo/armor. Take care, Austin
  11. And w/ regard to the bows, idk... Zombies? I'll probably end up using that figure if I ever do a zombie dio... Build: the italeri kit had worse fit than I remembered... Here, it's ugly... Lookin better now... While waiting for that Mr. Surfacer to dry, I decided to start another 2 blackhawks, a UH-60L from the Colombian Army, and MH-60A, "Donna Dee" from the WW sheet. The hasegawa is going to be the UH-60L, and I'm planning on at least attempting to fix the tail rotor gear box... The fujimi kit, which is such a shame for having a lot of nice details OOB, but horrid shape issues, wi
  12. Next dio? I was thinking something similar to this to start: and then something like this, a huey (OH-6 or HH-3 maybe?) coming in for a hot extract of the cobra crew. I'm shifting towards Vietnam dioramas for the next 'set', although I might do an "impromptu" dio with a side build or so... Take care, Austin end part I
  13. Holy styrene overload. That's some awesome work! You must have the patience of a saint. I'm definitely going to have to remember to tape down fiddly bits as I tend to drop stuff quite often... Take care, Austin
  14. Chicago area for the next month, then lost in the woods...
  15. It'll be interesting to hear what they have to say. I got the UH-60 closed up... Take care, Austin
  16. Thanks! And glad I could help :) Take care, Austin
  17. Yes, I do it all the time. I copy the picture url (right click, Copy img URL) and then paste the url between the img tags. I normally use 800x600. HTH, Austin
  18. UC, ew... I should have taken pics of the Miami Valley Hospitals' medflight. They flew the SA365N's so you could always hear the high pitched whine of the fenestron. There were a few times EC-145s would fly to the hospital, too. Take care, Austin
  19. Beautiful work. What's the tamiya tape supposed to be (the strip that was wrapped around the engine in the last update and now is trimmed to that upper portion)? Is it just holding something in place, or is it actually part of the real engine? Thanks, Austin
  20. I suppose it's time for pictures... The flag is a dry transfer (archer or echelon, can't remember) onto aluminum foil Well, I spend the vast majority of the past week with friends, so not a whole lot in the modeling realm, however, I've been putting together the fuselage. I only have about halfway together on the pinnacle landing bird, as the seats are giving me some trouble (not to mention the gunner seats are a little tricky because I'll have gunners in there...) Some little fiddly bits for later... Here's a link to the pics I took of the Caeser figures... I broke my lamp while mo
  21. Mason, Looks good. I think the FLIR came after the square folding tails, but not before the HIRSS. Anymore pics? Take care, Austin
  22. happy new years and YES! to more blackhawks.... take care, Austin
