  4. Part two........... I still have no idea what is going on with photobucket? :BANGHEAD2: Well at least I am having fun and all the airbrushes are ready to go for the camo. Did I say that again? Rocky
  5. Thanks Paul! You are much too kind. I have finally made some time to work on Chico and I keep thinking and telling myself that I will do the camo tomorrow. And as usual, another problem arises. :BANGHEAD2: I realized that I should paint the nose before I painted the camo and it is a good thing I did. How did I miss this? :notworking: Drats and double drats! Now I have sand this thing again! The first pic is with florescent and a 100 watt bulb and the second is florescent only. How did I miss this? Oh well............ I have done a few other things. More to follow a

  8. Pete, This is a very ambitious project and you are doing a great job! Rocky
  9. Chuk, Looking exceptional as usual and thanks for showing me another gizmo I had to order! Rocky
  10. Many thanks Mareku! Pig, many thanks for the kudos and the iapp! He is under house arrest agian! He cannot accomplish the simplests of tasks and I have sent word to London to bring him to the tower...off with his head! The MAJOR Hey guy's don't worry about me. The Major is just upset about "the Lady." He did not mention that I bought him a wooden base while he was away. As noted in the pic, the pre shading is very light. This was done on purpose. The pre shading on top was done in flat black and in a very different way. I hope it works! Pictures of the camo tomorrow. Von Rock
  11. Ve look forvard to yur next post! Von Rock
  12. Mark, Simply stunning! All you need is the runway and some static grass. The FW is perfect and so is the Ketten. Obviously, you have mastered armor painting and weathering. Rocky
  13. I am interested in the P-38 and I am just around the corner from you. And yes, your box is full! Rocky
  14. Now for the next dilemma before I can move on and I need some help! The angle is hard to tell in the last two pics but there is a little downward tilt, which looks like some of the pics I have. Like I stated, I need some help here so I can move forward. Once this step is completed I will be spraying the paint! Chime in guys Rocky

    New to props

Mike Grant makes great decals gor 17's and 24's. They are not specific to your 17, but you may be able use some of them. His guages are awesome too. Go here. HTH, Rocky
  17. Kind of a broad question, but I will try to help you out. Winsor & Newton Series 7 brushes are by far the best for detail painting. They are classifed as water color brushes but I use them with enamels, acrylics and oils. Being an avid figure painter, these brushes are outstanding and great for the little details on aircraft cockpits and picking out the small details. These are are made from the tail of the Kolinsky and they are my personal favorite. They are not cheap but they will last you a long time if cared for properly. I use The Masters Brush Cleaner and I clean all of my brushes at
  18. Terry, Great work and painting! Rocky
  19. Many thanks for the kind words, they are greatly appreciated. A small update although it took me many hours and a hell of alot of frustration to get to this point. The BB pit is beautiful but the engineering is lacking. I have never started and restarted one phase of a kit like I have this pit fitting. This is nothing like the Aires pit. In any event, I can see the finish line and I am ready to get back to prop building! I will let the pics talk and summarize my thoughts at the end of this post. Just for grins I pulled out the F4-J kit and screwed in the Aires pit and checked for
