  1. Just finished another pencil drawing over the weekend that I originally started over a month ago. I'm pretty happy how this one came out. It's probably my most concentrated drawing effort to date. cheers!
  2. Back on 1/32nd scale aircraft again this week. We will be looking at Revell's new, at the time that this video was recorded, P-51D Early Mustang. This is also the second boxing of this kit, which to the best of my knowledge only has a different set of decals from the first boxing.
  3. Hi, Eduard have released several Brassin wheels for their P-51D. So far, I know of the following… *Diamond tread. *Block tread. *Oval tread. *Cross tread. *(Still to be released) Pointed cross tread. I know practically nothing about these treads. Does anyone know which was the most common? Is there a very rare one in there? Was there a type which was used only in the Pacific? Or only in Europe? Is there a post WW2 type in there? Is there type which disappeared right after WW2, so that it is unsuitable for a Korean war Mustang?
  4. Hi gents, I want to show you my progres on this great kit, cheers! Antonio
  5. I am planning to build a P-51D modeled after Stephen C Ananian's from the 505FS, 339FG, 8AF USAAF. His plane was named Baby Mine. I can't find any decals for that aircraft. Obviously there were thousands of P-51s built so I didn't expect to find any decals for it. Any suggestions on what to do? Is there a way to make them myself? I suppose it's better to just switch to a plane for which there are decals. Just curious if there are ways around this. Thanks!

  7. Hello everyone, this is my not so recent P-51 Mustang from ICM in 1/48 scale. 8. A variety of unlimited air racers, from the Bud lite Super Corsair, to the RB-51 "Red Baron" to the purpose built Tsunami are now or soon to be available in multiple scales thanks to Civilized Models. I've had the pleasure of meeting Gary of Civilized Models who opened for business earlier this year just a few weeks prior to the Unlimited Air Races in Reno, NV. He is literally a one man business trying to fill a badly under serviced segment of aircraft model building. Civilized models is providing air racing subjects in three scales, 1/72, 1/48 and 1/32 scale with an impressive amount of accur

  10. Apart from the Eduard PE seat belts, this was built OOB. This was a build of "firsts" for me: first WWII plane, first propeller plane and first build completed in overall silver. It was painted with Polished Aluminium from AK Interactive's new Xtreme Metal range. It went down rather smoothly and had a great shine over a coat of gloss black. However, it did not adhere well to the kit's surface and several parts rubbed off. After spraying the appropriate areas back with the paint, I sealed the whole model with Mr Color gloss clear. This helped protect the paint thoroughly at the exp

  12. Here is my newest build, This is the fantastic Tamiya P-51 mustang using eagle-editions decals. I added a few extra items to the build such as the battery wiring behind the seat, barracuda cockpit decals and adding a little plumbing for the drop tanks. My mustang was painted using alclad dura-aluminum for the wings, aluminum for the airframe and control surfaces and dark aluminum in a few other spots, the black and white invasion strips were by Mr Paint and, the blue nose is from Mr Paint su-27 dark blue. I added some weathering to it using a flory wash, and then tamiya pastels for the exhause
  13. I haven’t modeled since I was a young kid putting together Revell kits with Testors cement and finishing them in a couple hours. Even though I haven’t touched a kit since middle school, I have continued to follow model forums and build sites. Now, at the age of 33 and with the recent purchase of a house, I have the room to get back into it and try out all of the methods I have learned from forums like this. I decided to dive back in with one of the great 1/32 kits from Tamiya, their P-51D. I have also added some aftermarket kits, I am sure I will add more down the road but this is what I ha
