  1. Hello all, Since I am much too lazy to duplicate the same material here, I would like to simply provide a link to a thread I've started over on Britmodeler.com to cast clear resin canopies for the 1/72 Revellogram F-105D Thunderchief and for the Muroc Conversions of the F-8A and F-8C Crusader of the 1/72 Academy kit: Resin Cast Canopy This project is occurring not only because I need these pieces, but for the sake of modeling research, about how to do the masters, make the molds, and most importantly, what kind of resin and what technique. Anyone interested is welcome to look in and add their musings or knowledge if they have been down this road. I will reply either to this forum or that, as I check both frequently. Ed
  2. I recently discovered a bagged 1/48 AMTech P-40E in a box. It was missing a few parts but I found them in my spares except these two canopy pieces. I have the two rear glass parts so no worries or need there. Happy to cover shipping at the very least. Thanks, Lee Fogel
  3. Last night I masked off a SBD dauntless 1/48 revel model. It was tedious work and a real test of patience. I used sliced painter's tape and maskrol. I then airbrushed the two canopy pieces. This morning I removed the masking and maskrol and found some overspray on the windscreen away from the frames. Additionally the glass is a bit foggy. I had dipped it in Future before I painted (a day before). Maybe it was the wrong way to remove glue, but I took a wood toothpick and rubbed away the paint where it was not supposed to be. I was pretty disappointed with the final result. I spent a lot of time masking. Any ideas on how to clean up the fog and the paint residue? Thanks all. Jim
  4. I have the 1/48 Hasegawa F-14A Black Knights history boxing. I want to build it in flight. The canopy will have minimal aftermarket PE, if any. I remember reading that there were issues with the closed canopy and landing gear doors. The canopy seems wider on the sides than where it meets the fuselage. But most of the builds I have seen don't seem to mention this. I vaguely remember some other issues with closed gear doors. So are there any issues with the canopy I need to be aware of? The parts are in their bags so I don't want to open them just yet.
  5. I recently bought this kit and it is missing the canopy and decal sheet. If you have either if these items (or both) please let me know. I’d even take ANY ‘F’ decals you may have as I have none in the spares. Thank you! Later, Lee
  6. I recently got this kit #SP172 and it’s missing the canopy (parts K2 and K3) and the prop spinner (part A9). If you have these pieces please let me know. Thank you! Later, Lee
