P-38 guy
Was a nice surprise find. The price tag is $69.99 but with 40% coupon (only way I would buy one) is only $41.99 + tax. Picked up an Academy 1/48 CH-53E two weeks ago for $36.00 on clearance. Mike
Jay Chladek
Thanks for the tip. I went in tonight after work and sure enough, one of the ANG kits was sitting on the top shelf. It is in my hands now.
P-38 guy
I've noticed that the high price kits they only seem to get in one at a time now. I'm going to check back this weekend but don't think there will be another one for a week or two. Mike
Space Tiger Hobbes
I was surprised to find 1 still on the shelf at my HL today and picked up for about $45.35, tax and all. As noted above, the regular prices seem to be a bit inflated. You can't run 30.40,50 percent off coupons week after week any other way. At $44, it was just a few bucks less than Lucky Model. The Sprue Bros price was about $10 more before shipping. At Squadron, the various boxings of Tamiya Vipers ranged from $35 to $60. The identical National Guard C was $60 but the CJ was $39.99. So a 40-percent-off coupon at HL sounds like more than it turns out to be. Edited August 7, 2009 by Space Tiger Hobbes
jester292
Well I picked up a Tamiya 1/48 P-47 kit with a 40% off coupon and it was marked at $49.99 or $54.99. They had a P-47M on clearance for $19.99. I know clearance isn't the same, but I don't think they're too terribly inflated otherwise. I picked up the 1/48 He-219 Uhu for $54.99 as well (excluding the 40% off coupon I used for that). Aaron
mhoupt
Got my Tamiya F-16 at 40% off. I think the $70 price tag to start was high, but an end price of $45 was not bad.
twhite80
Got my Tamiya F-16 at 40% off. I think the $70 price tag to start was high, but an end price of $45 was not bad. I saw the Tamiya Viper at Hobby Lobby, and then I looked at the price and I thought "Oh they are counting on us using the coupon"
kenlilly106
They had a P-47M on clearance for $19.99. A steal at that price, with some aftermarket decals one can build a bubbletop D with the parts in the box. Ken
Space Tiger Hobbes
And for that matter, I picked up the Tamiya F-15C for $14 something on clearance, so, yes, clearance sales can be quite the deals.
Jennings
What's a Hobby Lobby? One advantage to living in the sticks - my stash stays relatively small! B) J
