Marlin
Howdy. Finally I can tell you what I'm entering into this GB. Not one, but four IDF/AF F-16. Two F-16D's one C and one I. This is what I'm going to work with. For the D's Hasegawa F-16D with Airwaves spines. One D is going to be from Vally Sqn armed with GBU-15 and AIM-9's This one is going to have 600 gallon droptanks. The other one is going to be from Scorpion Sqn armed with GBU-16's and Python IV and Sidewinders The C version is Tamiyas F-16 with Isras conversion set to turn in into a block 40 This one is going to be armed with two Spicebombs. This one will also have the large droptanks and some Pythons The last one is Kinetics F-16 I This one will be armed with the forth coming GBU-39s from Skunkwork Models when they arrive. The Sufa will be from the Negev Sqn and it will also sport some Aim-120 and Python IV So how much have I've done so far? I started with the Sufa on Christmas Day. Heres the spine and tailfin. And the inlet. There were huge ejectorpins in the intake that took sometime to get rid of. This is now fully painted and I've started on the mainlandingear well. I've put the pylons together as well I've also put the Airwave spine in place on one of the D's. This one is the block 40 from Scorpion Sqn. I'm also using an Aires cockpit on this aircraft. I had to cut away quite a lot of material to get it to fit inside. I did cut away a little to much on the kit, but that will be fixed later with some plasticard. More will follow.... /Bosse Edited June 29, 2010 by Marlin
Marlin
Part two. I've also done some work on the Sufa cockpit. The GBU-15 I'm using for the Valley Sqn F-16D block 30 is from Isracast and they are absolutely stunning. And I've also put some droptanks together. 370 & 300 gallon is from Kinetics Sufa. The 600 gallons are from Skunkworks There is quite a difference when you see them together. So this is what I'm going to be working with for the coming six months. Decals for Baraks will come from Isradecal and I think I'll use the kit decals for the Sufa. They look real nice and I've used some stencil for the Amraams and they performed real well. Please drop by for more pics and progress later.... :) /Bosse
dragan_mig31
this looks like another intresting build.but man seriously, please buy and airbrush and compressor.it can't be that much expensive.i see that you invest 50 + euros in one kit with all of this resin, high quality kits and decals.that investment will be like 2 of this kits.you will see the difference immidiatly ;)

I'm getting an airbrush in late february, or early march so I reckon this build will inclued atleast one airbrushed aircraft. /Bosse
Qian
Great start so far Bosse. Good luck in tackling the Kinetic Sufa man. I don't know about you but that kit sure gave me bad headaches with all those huge ejector pin marks. Happy modelling.
MiG Mongoose
Good to see I'm not the only one here with an airbrush yet!!! Very neat start so far, with all that resin, I have no doubt thet you will end up with 4 beautifully detailed f-16s. Keep it up!!
Marlin
Hi Gang. This is my progress as of last night. I'm also building a Kfir and trying to finish my Ra'am build (leftover from Op.GB) But it's soo fun cutting in to new plastic I can't help my self. First out a comparision of cockpits. The one to your left is Kinetics and the one to your right is from Aires. The Aires cockpit is really beautiful, but the Kinetic isn't that bad. I've also put the intake for the Sufa together. I couldn't get it to close fully, so I've inserted a small strip of .10 plasticard in the joint to get a clean fit. It wasn't even .010 in width I had to sand the plasticard to get it to fit. I guess I could have just filled the gap with CA, but I don't like to sand CA. I have also started on the Spice bombs for the Barak C I had to choose between Isras resin version of the platstic ones from Skunkwork. In the end I choose Skunkwork for the easier work on alignment of all the fins. With twelve fins on each bomb it was much easier to work with styrene instead of resin. Today I plan to finish at least one cockpit and have it mounted to an aircraft. And I also better do some work on the Kfir and Ra'am. More will follow.... /Bosse Edited January 3, 2010 by Marlin

Marlin
-ambitious build schedual. But your off and running the right way !looking forward to the Sufa Yes, a bit. But thats the challange. The Kinetic Sufa is quite fun to build. Lots of small parts. I was really displeased with the huge ejector plugs in the inlet. But they wasn't that hard to get rid of. Hopefully I'll have time for some more work when I get home from work tonight. Later..... :) /Bosse
Marlin
Hi again. I'm concentrating on the Sufa as the first build of this multiple build. I've almost finished the intake. It consist of 22 pieces altogether. And some are real small. I did see the carpet monster at one time, but I gave him a swift kick and he disappeared back under the floorboards. I've also got most of the mainlandinggear bay/intake together. When all this has dried I can put it in the fuselage and continue with the rest of the landinggear bay. As for the Barak-D, I've cut the Aires ejectionseat from their castingblock and I've given them a first coat of grey. Small thing really, but as soon as I can get the fuselage on the first two together I'll start the second Barak-D and the -C I'm looking forward to the C, I've never built the Tamiya F-16 before. More will follow.... /Bosse
Marlin
Hey I can't help it, here's another update. I've got the mainlandinggear bay glued to the fuselage. After some fiddling the intake is also in place. I had to thin down the sides where the intake meets the fuselage a bit to get a clean fit. Now when that is done, I can concentrate on the cockpits. First a light drybrush of grey to get some more details out. Next I'll put some more colour to some nobs, just get it interesting. I've also painted the cockpit screen dark green. With this speed. I hope to be able to mount at least one cockpit tomorrow. Thanks for looking and feel free to comment my work. /Bosse

Hope you guys are alright, but then your country doesn`t fall to bits just because of a little snow quite the same way as The UK does, especially the south. Excellent progress, really like the weapons too, I`ll be following intently. Have a good one Bosse. Cheers, Ian
Marlin
Hi Gang, I'm done with the Sufa Cockpit. I've painted the IP's and put all the little fiddly bit inside the cockpit. Mounting the cockpit to the fuselage was no trouble. I even started on the seats. And here is when trouble strikes. The main part, sides and seat are to be glued togehter at was should be 45degree angles where the parts meet. But no such luck. I've spent about an hour just too glue three parts together. There are some ejectorpinmarks that has to be removed, and some flash also. Memo to myself - Next Sufa buy some resin seats. So now I can soon close the fuselage on the Sufa. When thats done, I'll concentrate on the D block 40. To be continued...... /Bosse
Marlin
Hi, Just a small update now. Yesterday I closed the fuselage. And since I've seems to have caught the first cold of the year, I'm staying home from work today. Maybe I'll have some more pics tonight. To be continued..... /Bosse
Marlin
Hi, I've been busy today. I've got the CFT's on and some more antennas. I've also put some more work on the Aires cockpit for the first Barak D, The side/wall consoles took me over two hours to get in place. The wasn't exactly dropfit in shape. I've also put some more colour on the IP's. But I see that I have to re-do the front seat one. Since I'm not feeling fresh enough I'm staying home from work tomorrow as well. Perhaps I can finish the cockpit then? More will follow...... :P /Bosse Edited January 12, 2010 by Marlin

Marlin
Hi again, Yesterday I spent mostly trying to get the Aires cockpit to fit inside the fuselage. I can tell you that it wasn't the easiest battle I've fought. It took me some hours of sanding and grinding before I could close the fuselage. And another thing that strikes me as odd is the plastic of this Haswgawa kit. Its rockhard and very brittle, almost like resin. Actually the fuselage cracked in two places as I was sanding. The plastic is also in another colour than normal. The sprue containg fuselage and wings are of this harder almost resinlike plastic. But the sprues containing exhaust inlet cockpit etc is normal plastic. But it seems to take glue as normal so I guess I just have to bit a bit more careful so I don't break something more. The crack I got in the fuselage was easy mended with some Tenax. And I didn't get the fuselage to close fully on the underside so I have some gaps to fill. This is my third Haswgawa F-16 and I've had this problem on all of them. Now I'm off to start the C-model. Tamiya-time so it should be fun..... More later.... :D /Bosse
Marlin
Hi, I didn't start the Tamiya C. I continued on the Haswgawa D instead. I would like to have the wings and fin mounted before I start the next one. As for the wings. They dont fit! I had to add some plasticard strips on the wings to get some fit. Otherwise I will have a very nasty step to get rid of. I've also fitted the Airwaves inlet to the fuselage. That battle was almost like the Aires cockpit. I had some gaps, but some strips of plasticard took care of that. Perhaps I'll get the wings on by tomorrow....... To Be Continued..... ;) /Bosse
Marlin
Hi again, I think I've got the wings to fit now. I've filled the gap with .10 and .05 strips until it was gone. Last time I built a Haswgawa F-16 I filled the gaps with putty and I took fore ever to get an even fill. Ã'm quite satisfied with this result. Now I can finally begin the Tamiya C-model... T B C...... /Bosse

Marlin
Eh,eh,eh! ;) A multi F-16 building do not see every day. As always, great job my friend! Cheers,Gianni ^_^ Thanks Gianni. How's the figures painting going? /Bosse
kurnass77
My friend, I am in the final stage of painting and especially the assembly of a model that represents the episode of the chariots's racing of the film Ben-Hur; a real torture with four white horses (an obnoxious color) all the same and therefore a bit boring. But most annoying is the assembly of the various elements that do not match almost never! :( But now for me, no work, is the only way they can earn a few money, because the model is intended for a collector (which among other things takes my time to continue the Vigi and Corsair). Anyway I will not complain too much, I hope that this negative moment passes quickly ... Good work on the models in Progress Pics; How are your children? A big kiss from a cold but sunny Rome.
