blunce
There's a little surprise in there for you all when she's done. Hmmmm
Bigasshammm
Hmmmm Oh it's a good one. When I saw it I said "Yes, add to cart!"
Bigasshammm
And the P-47... Front cowling is just tack welded with a spot of super glue for paint. All 3 basically ready for paint. I'm going to do the Future dip today for all the canopies and let them sit for the weekend. Might get them all sprayed with neutral gray as a primer and it's the under fuselage color for all 3 also. Dirkpitt289
Nice work going on here. I like the comparison you have going on between the two P-40 kits.
Bigasshammm
Nice work going on here. I like the comparison you have going on between the two P-40 kits. The Academy is a little more detailed but all in all they're both very similar. I was surprised the old one fit soooooo good. Now comes if I can mate the Quickboost prop and spinner to it succesffuly. Being that it (old P-40) and the 47 will be in flight it will look a little strange that I don't have the prop blurs. But I'm not willing to invest it for these little models. Hopefully the props can spin freely and I can just give them a flick before a photo. Anyway I got them sprayed with the NG and dipped all canopy pieces in Future. I'll probably hand paint the canopies because I don't want to do that much masking. Might get the OD on the Academy and P-47 today. The old 40 will have to wait for it's new nose.
Bigasshammm
Green Neutral grayed/primered And the giveaway on the P-47...
blunce
Is that a gator? Definitely not one you see everyday!
Bigasshammm
I thought it was a snake but upon closer inspection and as sharkmouth pointed out to me it's a wolfs head. I finished the nitpicky painting on the 47 and the 40e. Painted red stripes n cowl ring on the 47. It looks real nice. Painted the hubcaps and nose of the 40e yellow. I think my yellow was fubared so I'll prob have to touch up the prop. They'll be ready for future soon. Tomorrows "my" and all "dads" day so I'm goin to a baseball game. Drinking beer. And having the most killer hotdog I've ever seen. I'll take a pic n post it when I can. Enjoy dads!
Bigasshammm
Bout to put some Future on the first 2. Here's how they look after some brush work this morning. P-47 Decal sheet Which I used to paint this... P-40E
blunce
Can't wait to see how that -47 comes out. Gonna look great with that nose art!

Bigasshammm
Father's day at the ballfield... And the "dog" "3 Dog Night" hot dog, inside a bratwurst, inside a kielbasa, covered with sauerkraut n stadium mustard. They put way too much stadium mustard on the bottom of it but otherwise delicious. Also absolutely impossible to eat gracefully. Especially when there's a pretty hot teenager/college girl sitting next to you. lol And Mission Accomplished...
Bigasshammm
Got the decals on the Academy today... I'm definitely happy with it. The Academy decals were OK and seem to conform to micro sol nicely. Still will have an application or two to put on the mouth decals but otherwise she'll get futured again tomorrow then weathered and dull coted. I'll be doing the P-47 decals tonight because I just got all this in the mail... I'm most excited about the Audi!
Bigasshammm
Love it... I totally forgot to paint a horizontal red stripe on the tail so I will have to mask that and spray it after I've thoroughly futured this. Then I have the last 2 decals the SN to put on the tail and she'll be nearly there. Looks great for such a small plane I'm very happy with it. tempestwulf
Howl out to the Wolfhead P-47. Nice job Kris, all looking sweet so far.
Bigasshammm
Thank you all. I'm pleasantly surprised at how they both turned out. The Eaglecal decals were superb. I was impressed with how many stencils there were for such a small model.
Bigasshammm
I was even more impressed with the Eaglecal decals when I opened them up and out came a full page information sheet on Whooo. So if anyone's interested...

mclents
Just as an aside- AeroMaster put out 3 "specials" on the 405th, and still had so many subjects researched, they continued with more later on their regular series of decals. With still more, the even included more on their twin company Eagle strike. By the time they were done there are 35 different 47s that could be modeled from that group alone. Since they were pretty much ground pounders, they never got a lot of play amoung modelers. But they definately had some of the best artists in the AF. The models you did came out really nice and will add an eye catching spot on your display shelves. But I'm betting those little sleeping ones of yours you still consider your "best work". :) Congrats..... McLents Edited June 21, 2011 by mclents
Bigasshammm
Thanks McC! Well here she is with legs... And the camo on the other P-40. The aftermarket nose fit perfectly but sadly it is permanently glued. Will look silly since it's in flight but whatever.
