Maybe I should just do both! Just do both, I plan on getting at least two done, with the first being a C-
phantom
I wonder if a RCN Corvette would be good for this GB.

The following RCN Corvette's played an active role in Operation Neptune (the naval component of Overlord) that included escorting landing craft to the beaches, picking up/rescuing soldiers, sailors, and airmen, U-Boat deterrents , shore bombardments and communication relays: HMCS Alberni, HMCS Braddock, HMCS Calgary, HMCS Carouse, HMCS Drumheller, HMCS Kitchener, HMCS Lindsay, HMCS Luxemburg, HMCS Mayflower, HMCS Mimics, HMCS Moosejaw, HMCS Rimouski, HMCS Port Arthur, HMCS Prescott, HMCS Regina, HMCS Summertime, HMCS Rimouski, HMCS Trentonian, HMCS Woodstock... I'd say RCN Corvette's played their part quite well to assist in D-Day. Regards, Don

Kurt H.
Is a P-51B suitable for this GB ?

As the GB will include D-Day to VE Day, a P-51B with invasion stripes would be completely appropriate. I thought I had a wonderful subject, a Bf-109 in 318 Squadron markings, but it's apparently from Sept '45. I also have markings for some Spitfiire IX's,. But, I think I'll do a 1/48 LCM in D-Day markings. In the best of all possible worlds, I'll add a 1/48 a Jeep to complement a picture of LCM PA13-2.

The guidelines down in the GB's forum say "anything that operated on the western front from D-Day to VE-Day", so I'd be confident that a No 100 Sqn Lancaster would be most welcome. No 100 bombed coastal batteries during the night of 5/6th of June 1944. Cheers, Stefan.

phantom
Looks like the Corvette is now the top of my list. The 1/32 Spitfire I wanted to do is 1943. Don't like the look of invasion stripes on a Spit. My backup Lancaster is also 1943. So........a boat.

nspreitler
The D-Day to VE Day GB is underway with quite a bit of participation. It doesn't end until July 1st so there is plenty of time to join. Anyone is welcome, build a plane, tank, figures, or anything on the Western Front from D-Day to the end of the war.
