jmel
Jake,Really? In that case, I may not need one! F-16.net hinted at TARS use on the page for 85-1573, so I assumed (I know, I know) that it carried it. It was probably talking about the unit as a whole using them. In any case, I've gotta look further into this! Jon Jon, the unit is cleared to use them, and they did in their two most recent OIF deployments. However, in both instances, 85-1573 did not make the trip over to the sandbox, but stayed home. Jake
foxtwo
yep, a pretty difficult partto make, here's mine...made without data...some pics only ! not the best one, but enough impressive under my F16. model is at 1/32 scale ok, i never make a mold of it, nothing accurate in this one, very difficult shape to reproduce specially when you just have some overall shots.....but 'm in discussion for having some real data, could be more ineresting. pat

Cobrahistorian
Jake, Thanks for the info. Out of curiosity, did 573 make it overseas for any OIF deployments? I've got the Fox One "Air Guard Vipers at War" sheet and associated markings for 573. Are they misleading? Thanks again! Jon

wardog1
I'd like to see the new Goodrich DB-110 resse pod I've google'd my brains out and haven't seen a decent picture of the new pod I'd like to put it on a D model I have planned for the PoLAF Viper Charles
thegoodsgt
Pat, your recce pod looks great. I'm a big fan of aftermarket parts, but I should challenge myself more frequently from time to time. I've found that scratchbuilding simple pylons and pods isn't impossible if you just take the time to break them down into a collection of smaller shapes. It really does make the hobby much more enjoyable.
Rob de Bie
I recently did an article on F-16 stores for the IPMS-The Netherlands magazine. The Modular Reconnaissance Pod in all its variants was one of the hardest nuts to crack! But here's the result of the research, from top to bottom the Dutch, Belgian, Danish and American versions: In case you're wondering, the Dutch pod has windows on the lower side. Here's some information taken from an on-line PDF by Terma, the manufacturer: 4115 mm length, 762 mm height, 730 mm width. Chappie
Rob de Bie, Welcome to ARC!! Great info! Do you have a link to your article? I'm an F-16 bomb loader and would love to read it. Chappie
Rob de Bie
Rob de Bie,Welcome to ARC!! Great info! Do you have a link to your article? I'm an F-16 bomb loader and would love to read it. Chappie There's no on-line version, it was published in the paper IPMS-NL magazine. And of course it's in Dutch! You can probably order the two issues from IPMS-NL, but I don't know whether that's cost-effective. I forgot to mention that the details of the Dutch, Belgian and Danish versions are 99% confirmed & correct, but the USAF TARS pod was based on some pretty vague photos, and some panel lines could be off. If there is someone who can check the details, I would love feedback. If necessary I will update the drawing for an 'updates & corrections' follow-up article. doctorpepper
that looks like an absolute terror to master and cast - how would one go about making it modular to accomodate all 4 versions? David
My AirFix
Hi David, How about just having a basic profile w/ required panel lines... (like a Template version) Sperate Decal & Vent Cast for the different version.... Just a thought... Cheers, Daryl
