jinxx1
Hey Ish; was this you helo at Midland? Imagine my surprise to discover there was a helo in that last photo.
Ishthe47guy
Yup, Jinxx, that was my taxi to the show. Now about the last picture, & I do affirm this is the honest truth. I was there for the airplanes, nothing more, nothing less, & I have about 700 photos to prove it. However, my compatriots were there more for the "scenery", like in your last pic. That particular piece of "scenery" was European, either Austrian or Swiss, I forget. It’s obvious to me that since the aircraft was being repositioned, that was taken Friday afternoon. The next day, that "scenery" showed up again, wearing the same exact clothes, unwashed hair, yada, yada... I was there when she showed up Saturday afternoon, but I didn't get very close to her, but my fellow green suiters did. I'm going to stop right there as not to generalize about personal hygiene practices of our friends on the other side of the Atlantic. To sum up, yup, that was my helo. Albert Moore
Photos taken at Bagram Air Field, FOB Naray and FOB Keating (Kamdesh), Afghanistan, 2006/2007.3BCT, 10th Mountain Division. So, is that a standard US Army CH-47 stencil?....LOL. I always get a chuckle out of things like that. Nice pics, Mike! Thanks for posting them. Cheers, Alby

Those are some neat photos. It is always interesting to see an airplane "working for a living". Nothing quite like shots of equipment in the field. Thanks!
RotorheadTX
Hey Ish; was this you helo at Midland? OMG!! I just shot some walk-around shots of that same bird on Jan. 24th, at Camp Mabry in Austin! The paint is in such a state.....it's a weatherer's dream!! I spoke to the F.E. before he started tinkering with linkages under the instrument panel..... Ish, was that you too??
jinxx1
Oh I wish I had taken as good of care of my negatives as I did my slides... This CH-47A (61-2409) was photographed at ELP in 1978. I believe it was with the 1105th Aviation Company.

I worked on some very new F models in the 'Stan a few years ago, like with less than 100 hrs total airframe time. I'll have to dig them up while I'm looking for more pics for that dude that posted above this one. Ish
Lancer512
Went up on our control tower to get some Chinook pictures... Maybe somebody here on the forum remembers that background. We had Chinooks based here until 1993. However, this is not 1993, the picture was taken today, June 7 2011, showing brand new CH-47F 09-08071 out of Ansbach, Germany.
