Two Mikes
I hate having to do this but I have to post a bad trader alert on F14Cat. I paid $73.50 for two Tamiya F-16's on May 20th and to this day I have yet to receive them. I have PMed Dean several times and have been told each time, "oh man I am sorry, what was it you bought and what is your address again? I will get them out tomorrow with a tracking number." The bothersome thing here is that it appears I am not the only one having issues getting what I paid for. I also am fully aware of the medical issues that he has een going through with his wife however, PM's are eing ignored and the list is being updated daily. At this point I either want a refund, via Paypal or a confirmation number about my kits shipping. Once it is resolved I will happl ask that this posting be removed. I think 7 weeks is plenty of time to wait for two kits from one side of the country to the other. Thanks Mike
Two Mikes
Well, once again no response and an update to his sale. Buyer Beware!!

When I read that from a seller then I know something is up, all they're doing is stalling for time, preferably until after the Paypal complaint window has closed. Ken I have not filed a Paypal complaint yet but I will say that Dean's silence on the issue is deafening. I have only been taken for a ride once on this site and have bought and sold literally hundreds of times. This is really disheartening and makes me question who I will buy from now. longmc
This is a real shame. about a month ago, I bought a kit from him and got it in two days. He had good kits at a great price. Since then, I know of at least 2 other people now that I trust who have had the same experience.
Two Mikes
Wel after several unanswered and unacknowledged attempts to contact Dean I have had to resort to disputing my Paypal transaction. In 10 plus years of buying and selling on the net this is the first time I have had to resort to this. Sadly it will do me no good as it was not an ebay purchase but I had to try something. At the end of the day I can probably kiss my money goodbye and will most likely never see the kits I paid for. It has really soured me on buying from people online. As a merchant myself I try to do my level best to keep my customers happy and advise them of any issues I may have in getting orders out. Life happens and things don't always go as planned but simple communication goes a long way. Dean, if you read this all I ask is that you make this right. I think I have been more than patient in this transaction. Thanks Mike
Paul T
I belong to a gun forum where we may also buy rifles ,handguns etc. from each other.Under your name and avatar ,you have a trader rating.....the more you trade ,purchase etc. the higher your number. Many of us will not deal with newbs or people with a low number ( depending on what it is ) until you build trust with the members and you earn a few transactions. You may also click on the persons number and read about any + /- transactions they have (feedback) I never trade without all the info I demand (full names ,phone numbers ,addresses etc)....none of this cloak and dagger BS ! Excuses are just that....EXCUESES ! Unless someone mails me a death certificate......they better send me my stuff !! I hope for the best to you Two Mikes ! Myself ,of all the many deals I`ve done on ARC ,I have never been wronged.....lucky perhaps ? PS - 7 weeks is way overdue ! richter111
I have only had one sale go bad, the seller took too long, then the kits he sent me were already started, or missing pieces. Thankfully I only paid a small amount for them, but still, none of those things were stated in the beginning.

Jeff Jeff It would be ok if he was just in contact with me and offered to work things out however, all of my attempts to contact him have gone unanswered. All I asked for was to come to a point where he sent my kits or refunded my money. $73.00 USD isn't exactly chump change. Cheers man! Mike
RedStar
Contact really is the key, I'll fully admit I've been on the bad side of things, where I had a big list and have been overwhelmed with the sheer number of orders to dig out from, but have always come through in the end, sometimes very late (yes even seven weeks late), but the key problem here is the lack of contact. When everyone is looking for the guy, and he doesn't come on line, doesn't respond to e-mails, and has a PM box that is full, that's where the problem gets componded. Best thing he could do is come on-line provide a reasonable and rational explanation - even if just to say - hey guys, I got in over my head, and have to dig out from a big backlog, but I promise I am legit, and will deliver - that will satisfy most of the folks that are waiting - add in a personal e-mail, and things will start to smooth out. Of couse, I've also seen where the folks on here can adopt a lynch mob mentality, and one delayed deal turns into a number of angry customers with torches and pitchforks - it can be VERY scary to have to respond to that sort of mentality, especially if the guy does have a bunch of sh!t going on in his life (believe me when I say fellas, I was THERE back in December/January). In the end Dean, just come out and let folks know what's going on, you'll feel better, and so will 99% of the folks that have a problem... But you gotta make the first move my friend! Hope you're reading this stuff, so you're at least aware of what's going on! Paul
big fatty
Hope things work out for you, i've been in the same spot before and it sucks! I got screwed by a guy in Goose Creek, SC 2 years ago by the name of D. Allen Lehr. I purchased a 1/32 Tamiya F-16CJ from ebay ,paid with a USPS money order. Never got the kit, never heard from him and a short time later the guy was no longer a ebay member. This person also had 100% feedback and was selling lots of kits, so i was kind of baffled that he would not answer back. I see what's going on with this guy here on ARC with some guys saying that they had no problems with any dealings with this guy. Then you have a few like you who are getting screwed, kind of sounds like the same guy that got me 2 years ago. And yes i asked, he claims his middle name is Terry and lives a hour from Goose Creek. I myself would not buy nothing from this guy. Things that make you go hmmmmm. Hope you get your kits in the end. Edited July 10, 2010 by big fatty
richter111
Sadly, I have seen these things before, a member joins, sells great deals on kids for a period of time, building up trust, then has a massive blow out sale, and disappears.
kenlilly106
The other problem besides lack of contact is that the seller keeps updating the list over and over again while at the same time avoiding people who are asking for status updates in between the "update" posts. Unless you were hospitalized, incarcerated or deported, there's simply no excuse for taking SEVEN weeks to ship after receipt of payment. Cheers Mike Mike, expect tea and sympathy from paypal. First off, you need to file a complaint within 30 days for them to consider it at all. Second, you are only protected to the amount in the other person's paypal account, which is typically zero for most crooks on the internet. In fact if you use a credit card through paypal, you dilute your protection because if you paid direct with a Visa or Amex, they would be all over the perp like white on rice. With paypal - hey they're not out anything either way, so what's the problem? I avoid using paypal at all and if I do, I don't let any transaction go past 30 days without filiing a complaint - I don't care how reputable the person or company might be. Two Mikes
Here is the reply Dean sent me va PM on July 1st. This is my third reply sent to him as of this AM. Hi Mike My fault!!! Will be out priority mail in the morning and I WILL follow-up with a tracing #.. My apologies!!! Dean Dean, It has been 12 days since you last responded. Since then I have filed a Paypal complaint, posted a bad trader on you ( which I will revoke if you come through) and am now to the point where I am about to contact the US postmaster and your local authorities and report you for mail fraud. You keep ignoring me but still have my money. It is going on 2 months since I sent you $73.50 fortwo Tamiya 1/48 F-16s and I have waited long enough. I understand there have been some medcal issues with your wife and I am sorry for that, however, you still have time to post updates to your sale and apparantly get others items out. Why can't you take 3 minutes of your tme to update me on the status of my kits and/or Paypal refund? I do not like to play hardball Dean but you are leaving me no choice. You have MY money and I request that you either send me the goods I purchased from you with it or refund it. All you needed to do was communicate with me. Simple really. I am a very patient and understanding guy and have never had to send a PM or communicate to anyone like this before. So all I ask is to step up to the plate and let me know what the deal is. Thank you, Mike Reeves

big fatty
I'm going to the post office tomorrow and doing a form 6401 on D.Allen Lehr for the 1/32 Tamiya F-16CJ he stiffed me for on ebay.
SonyKen
All, I, too, am waiting on some kits from Dean. I did my best to get him the money and the trade kits for the kits that he was suppose to send me, so that I would have the kits for the contest/show in Atlanta three weeks ago. I was giving Dean daily updates on my progress as far as getting the trade kits in the mail to him and getting the money transferred into my PayPal account to be able to make him a payment by PayPal. I was told by Dean that I did not need to keep him updated daily. Once the payment was made and the kits shipped, I received two “promises†of kits being shipped and tracking number for the shipment would be forthcoming. I made serious adjustments to my schedule with full anticipation that Dean would come through and I would have my kits by the Atlanta contest. I maintained my belief right up until the Friday before the Saturday show, that Dean was going to come through and my kits would be delivered in time. But It never happened. Fast forward to today. As of today it has been exactly one month since I made my PayPal payment to Dean and it has been almost 6 weeks since I sent him the trade kits. I for one, am tired of waiting. As of this morning, I have billed Dean through PayPal for the money that he owes me and the value of the kits that I sent him. I also included in the billing my two email address’, so if he feels like that he wants to discuss this matter, he can do so. There are two communication channels open to him. Dean told me once that he does business on several different boards. Should anyone see anything advertised by Dean on any other boards, please warn the folks on the other boards about Dean’s business practices. I will update and remove comments on this bad trader as things progress on this trade/sell. Best Regards, Ken Bailey (SonyKen)

Two Mikes
OK Dean 8 week now and I am now out of patience. Your complete lack of communication in this matter has really taken your side to a new low. I want my money refunded to me by this Friday, July 23rd or I will be contacting the local authorities where you are. I do not want it to come to this but you are leaving me no choice. The ball is now in your court. I would appreciate a response to this matter right here in this thread. Thanks Mike
