stealth hawk? old news/old photo stand down...
hawkwrench replied to Bounce's topic in Helicopter Modeling
No, that's definitely not it. We'll probably never see the real thing. The 160th did say, that the zero dark thirty helicopters were a pretty good representation of the real thing. So the film's birds are somewhat close at least. Tim -

Ok. Trying to figure out the best way to paint it without using straight black. I've had some guys say 50/50 NATO black and Helo drab. Tim

hawkwrench replied to Fozzy's topic in In-Progress Pics
Fozzy, you've done lost your mind!!! Absolutely mind-blowingly good detail that I could NEVER even try! (I don't like yogurt either!!!) Tim -
Now the Testors MM line is being discontinued, there goes the Helo drab that's been my go to paint for Army helos. Has anyone used the new AK interactive helo drab? If so, is it any good and post pics if you've got them showing the new paint on the helo. Tim

Special Operations Hughes/MD500s - Not 160th SOAR!
hawkwrench replied to Loach Driver's topic in Helicopter Modeling
Come across this pic a few days ago of the NOTAR test helo of the 160th. I can't make out the serial # on the cowling. Tim -

A little bit of an update. I glued down a piece of styrene, painted it and weathered it to represent the aluminum plate that the C2 console seats (UH-1 Huey seats) were mounted to. After that I glued on the crew chief sidewall armor to the cabin walls and began to layout how the MH-60L would have been equipped. I'm sure it will change once I hear from its crew chief. Tim

It would be nice if an aftermarket company would create a backdated OH-58 set using the MRC kit as a bass. Tim

Sot today I scrachbuilt the FRIES release handle using some leftover PE and some evergreen stock. Pretty cool I think. Tim

Here's a new pic of an early TF-160 (pic labeled 1986-87) AH-6. Not sure what model though. I'm sure you guys know. Tim -
I'm sure Floyd Werner will love that! He might even want to buy it!!! Lol Tim

I finished up the right side cabin sidewall tonight. Also, I did a little more work on the cabin roof. I like the way it's turned out except for the left cabin light. I'll have to fix that tomorrow night. Tim

Armor-alled tires? Really??? I guess the US doesn't want international customers to have the UES. Tim

Gino, no. Those panels were made for a set "to come out very soon" wink wink. Maybe those earlier panels can work. I have a few sets of those, but never tried to see if they fit. Tim

A little bit of work on the floor armor tonight followed up by laying down some Africa dust where the crew chief's boots would have been while sitting. Tim
