  1. That's a shame mate. Any reason for the decision? Chris
  2. Guys, a little OT. But what are the differences with the Italeri 1/48 Typhoons to the RoG? The reason I ask, is that the Italeri kit once built just seemed kinda dull and without life when I built it. ( I actually built the 2 seater and since binned it) So does the RoG have better features, mold ect? ps: what is every ones favourite Typhoon markings and why? German, RAF, Italian, Spanish, Austrian, Saudi?
  3. I'd say put them on and blend them in.. I hate large amounts of decals as well, kinda why I have only ever built two F-15's.. But better to at least give it a little more realism than not. They are actually on there. Just hard to see at times.. Chris
  4. I did a C a few years ago in 1/32. Might have the instructions somewhere. I also have the decals as I did mine in RAAF markings.. Only real difference is the parts for the cockpit.. Chris
  5. How anyone can love a single seater is beyond me. And that goes for the MiG-29 as well.. Twin seats all the way baby! Chris
  6. Mate, I would like us all to move back at X-mas, but I think that may just be a trip for a few weeks as the wife is contracted to work until next March. (She is a Japanese school teacher) It may be a situation where by I will probably stay on, and get things set up, and she will return with the kids.. Still don't know yet. But she is the one pushing to live in Australia.. And in all honesty, after nearly 10 years here, I have had enough also... Chris
  7. Great work Andrew.. Haven't been around much of late.. Am working hard to get back to Australia at the end of the year.. Never ever thought about this aircraft in RAAF colours.. But mate, I think you nailed it in all honesty.. Chris
  8. Pit looks good.. Not sure, but do the drivers still use shaggy red seat covers these days guys? Chris
  9. Always nice to see something different Denz.. Again, great work mate.. Chris
  10. Andrew, appreciate the kind words mate.. I had also heard about the colours, but wanted to do this in a different scheme. But thank you for your input. Nice to know that someone else had heard the same thing.. I do however plan on building another at a later date.. Currently I am still building this one, and a 3 Sqn Legacy B.. Chris
  11. Spent the day getting the parents off to Hong Kong, so no updates.. Chris
  12. Well mate, I am a fan of twin seaters. And I actually have built a Revell 1/48 Typhoon, but it has since been binned.. I may look into getting another... When it comes to the Super Pigs. I guess we will have to wait until they get the first one later this year to see what happens... Chris
  13. Sebastian, it took me a long time before I bought my first Legacy kit in 1/48. But I found one half price at my LHS, so grabbed it.. Have to be honest. But the Hornet in both varients is my favourite aircraft. Still thinking about how I will arm them. But Hasegawa are lacking in that department. I may have to re-check what's in the box.. Chris
  14. Thanks mate. Here is a pic of it with my Legacy Hornet WIP.. Chris
  15. Hi Andrew. Actually I did an F-15E with a Boomerang tail, and alo started doing an SU-27UB as a what if also. But benched them.. Chris
  16. Kev, I may just take your advice!.. Maybe we can start calling them RAAF F/A-18F Super Pigs...... Christopher, thanks mate. Its your roundal decals you sent me that have been used on this build. Can't thank you enough mate.. A few more pics later today.. I will be starting a Legacy Hornet to go with it today also... Chris
  17. Thanks David.. I wanted to keep a little bit of the F-111G's with this build, so felt that atleast one of the new aircraft had to have dark grey.. I also decided to do the lightning rod with pig to pay homage to Amberley 6 Sqn and the F-111.. Chris
  18. Wow, 290 some views, and only two people that have taken any interest in my build. Either we all think its crap, or I am not very well liked? No probs I guess. ... Chris
  19. Ok, here is an update of my RAAF Super Bug. I was flicking through some F-111 tails and came up with this art for my F/A-18F.. All hand painted, but still need to give the pig his red eye... Chris
  20. Ok, here is an update of my RAAF Super Bug. I was flicking through some F-111 tails and came up with this art for my F/A-18F.. All hand painted, but still need to give the pig his red eye... Chris
  21. Gottcha.. Actually, Australia tends to stick with what comes off the assembly line. Or so I have been told. So if modern standards are cocerned then they should be the same colour as the Navy Super Hornets, as they are the only users of this aircraft.. But until we see them, then I guess its all speculation for now.. Thanks for the clarification mate.. Chris
  22. Thanks guys... Ken, I always thought the Super Bugs were two tone like the Legacy Hornets? Chris, I was thinking the same thing.. Light gray on the dark.. Have my parents visiting and will be taking them to Kokura Castle today. So won't have a chance to do any work on the Bug.. Chris
  23. Here is my 1/48 Hasegawa F/A-18F Super Hornet. When I found out that the RAAF was purchasing them, I went strait out and bought the Hasegawa Jolly Rogers kit. With only limited information regarding the RAAF markings, I took what I did know, and decided to do a what if. In saying that, we do know that they will be in normal Navy two tone gray, and that they will be based at Amberley with 1 and 6 Sqn. So I decided to do a CAG bird (Sqn Ldr) scheme, and gave it an extra tone of dark German Gray. I am still trying to decide on a cool tail marking for it. But think I will be sticking to the lig
  24. Ray, I just had a look online for info on that kit.. It seems to have the missile sensor pod, but many other extra's will need to be scratched.. Also, they have suggested light green in its color chart. We all know we use Israeli Green on our Tigers.... Chris
