  1. My LHS has them. I'll be up there on Thursday. Want me to pick one up for you?
  2. So the topic about covers it: Is the only difference between Hasegawa's SH-60B kits and their SH-60J kits the decals? I herd there were actually a few subtle airframe differences between the American and Japanese Seahawks. If so, which is the Hasegawa Seahawk closer to? Thanks.
  3. Or you could go unusual and do a VNAF Chinook.
  4. If the carrier is stuck in its berth, I fail to see how it's any threat.
  5. So I guess that's a big "shoke" from the peanut gallery. Well, okay... thanks anyhow.
  6. See, this is what I love about ARC. Someone can post an obscure picture of a helicopter and within 24 hours get a reply of "Yeah, I turned wrenches on it in Vietnam. What do you want to know?". Typical.
  7. Not to take business away from Joseph, but I might hold off on buying that Jayhawk conversion until we see how good Hobby Boss' upcoming HH-60J is. As for the other stuff, however, it's awesome, and he's a great dealer, so - buy in confidence.
  8. I'd love to see an Mi-8 of the Royal Zemblan Air Force.
  9. Well, looks like you found what you want, but just in case you're interested, I checked my LHS, and here's what they have in that vein, all from Yellow Wings Decals: 48-001 TBD-1 Devastators 48-002 TBD-1 Devastators 48-003 TBD-1 Devastators 48-006 TBD-1 Devastators 48-007 SBD Dauntlesses 48-015 Brewster Buffaloes If anything catches your eye, let me know.
  10. Hey all; So I've finally broken down and decided to do a Kazakh Air Force aircraft - probably either a MiG-27 or MiG-31 - so I find myself in need of Kazakh insignias. I wonder if anyone here has a set they'd be willing to let go - maybe from the Linden Hill Lipetsk Top Guns sheet or something. I'd be happy to sling a couple bucks your way for them if you do - or maybe trade something away. I have an Amodel Kh-55/AS-15 kit to trade away for them if you'd like. Anyhow, let me know if anyone here can help out.
  11. As usual, Joseph has the answer to all your helicopter-related needs: http://www.fireballmodels.info/fm_D04.htm
  12. Cool. I have a similar project - a Salvadoran Ouragan - in my pile somewhere. I look forward to seeing your progress.
  13. I've asked Greg at Draw Decal to print me sheets in odd scales before (specifically, to run off a 1/144 DC-7 sheet in 1/122 for the Revell DC-7), and he did it with no fuss, no muss. Only charged me the same as the 1/144 sheet, too. You might try that.

  15. Depends on which EE IL-96 kit, actually. The IL-96-300 "Rossiya" kit at least does not, so you have to buy the BraZ gear and chop holes in the fuselage/wings yourself. I've heard that other boxings are different. The IL-96-400 and IL-96M, for example, have gear and a completely new fuselage to boot.
  16. Pretty capable ones at that. They bagged quite a few Iraqi aircraft - including Tu-22s - with them.
  17. My LHS has several of the Eduard Tante Ju. Which version do you want the most? E-mail Mike Grant. If it's an ALPS decal, he'll run you off another copy on request. I know this because he ran off an extra copy of his 1/144 B-29 sheet for me.
  18. I'd suggest they use "Let's Get Dangerous" as their slogan, but I doubt that Darkwing Duck references would work all that well in Taiwan...

    Excessive

Seriously now - what kind of houses do all of you people live in that you can be buying 1/18 fighters and building 1/72 airliners? I swear, you all must be living with the Real Housewives of New York or something to have space for all this.
  20. Chris; Don't forget today's English lesson: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLvGu3WiiQ8 P.S. You chose well. Sakura is on the short list of names I'd choose if I ever had a daughter, along with Ami (for its double meaning in Japanese and Latin).
  21. My Aeroflot flights were: Moscow-Sochi: IL-86 Sochi-Simferopol: Tu-154 Simferopol-Kiev: Tu-154 Kiev-Donetsk on a train Donetsk-Leningrad: Yak-42 Leningrad-Helsinki on a train We got on the IL-86 at SVO, so we had a jetway when we got on, and they brought stairs out when we got off at Sochi - so I never got to use the IL-86's internal stairs. You know the DC-9/MD-80s have those too, right? Mostly they're deactivated, but they're there. Ken: Does Donetsk still smell like coal dust, sweat, and old cigarette smoke?
  22. Chris; I hope you're not running one of those kerosene heaters the Japanese like so much. I tried explaining to them that kerosene heaters are illegal in New York State because of their tendency to explode and burn buildings down. But you know what the Japanese are like - once they latch on to an idea, they just don't let go. So I thanked them, then chucked the kero heaters in the closet and got a couple electric ones. If you really get desperate, I might consider selling you my IL-96 - which is kinda started, but includes the BraZ landing gear and a very nice Brasil Decals Aeroflot decal s
  23. I have the same kit and have been considering a VNAF U-17 conversion. So I watch with great interest!
  24. OK, looks like Draw Decal has a door and window set. I'll order it after exam week is over. then back on track.
