  1. I have following books/references for sale. Payment by Paypal preferred. (Personal check also accepted but shipment will be delayed until the check clears.) Prefer to conduct transactions with CONUS, but will perform conduct transactions outside US if buyer is prepared for high cost of postage. Postage to be determined, but I'm using primarily MEDIA POSTAGE RATE for economy. (It’s cheaper than postage by weight, but it is slower.) I have another posting for decals if you’re interested in combining books and decals in the same shipment. Please PM me if you are interested. Please let me
  2. Hello - I'm looking for the VF-211 markings from 1/48 Eduard 1192 Danger Zone F-14A. I'm willing to buy outright and/or I have several decals and aftermarket items listed under "Buy and Sell". Please PM me if you have a set to spare.

Prefer to conduct transactions with CONUS, but will perform conduct transactions outside US if buyer is prepared for high cost of postage. Postage to be determined, but I'm using primarily FLAT RATE Priority Mail Boxes for ease of use. I can obtain individual postage quotes which may or may not cost less, but be prepared for a few days delay. Please PM me if you are interested. Please let me know if you are located in the US
  4. Light does have an effect how colors are percieved by our eyes, but just to throw a wrench in the gears - it bears mentioning that colors can fade as paint is exposed to the elements.
  5. I met David Hannant back in 2011 (the Centennial of Naval Aviation year) at NAS North Island and MCAS Miramar. I snapped this pic of him hanging with Brian P from Fightertown Decals. I found it humorous that he enjoyed American beers. He struck me as a humble guy who genuinely enjoyed airshows and aviation. (He took pictures of everything!) Rest in peace, Mr. Hannant.
  6. I found this article on Scott VanAken's site - Hasegawa F-14D
  7. There is a little bit of irony to this.... Many, many years ago, we used to have a model meeting at Gillespie Field museum where there is this F-14A parked outside. At one of the meetings, one of the museum guys said, "Some folks from Tamiya were out here this week to measure the F-14. We set up ladders and a maintenance stand for them to take pictures and make measurements." We modelers all scoffed with remarks like "Yeah, we'll never see that kit produced.", "It will cost over $100!" and "There is already the Hasegawa kit in 1/48, why do I need another one?"
  8. Posted this on another thread, but apparently Brian P didn't see it. With regards to making re-releasing previously done subjects made to fit the Tamiya kit, how about doing subjects not previously done by Fightertown? If someone were to do the original markings for VF-213 circa 1976-78 https://c1.staticflickr.com/9/8404/8702015179_8066d66e70_b.jpg and VF-211 from the same period - AND have them sized for the Tamiya F-14A kit, then they could be applied to the existing kit without any mods. The trouble is that even though Microscale/Superscal
  9. Slightly off the OP request, but if someone were to do the original markings for VF-213 circa 1976-78 https://c1.staticflickr.com/9/8404/8702015179_8066d66e70_b.jpg and VF-211 from the same period AND have them sized for the Tamiya F-14A kit, then they could be applied to the existing kit without any mods. The trouble is that even though Microscale/Superscale did these markings over 3 decades ago, who knows if they even come close to fitting key areas like the ventral fins, the rudders, and canopy rails of the Tamiya kit? If someone p
  10. Bro - no love for VF-124 and VF-101 Det Miramar?
  11. How is it that most people forget there was once a West Coast RAG? VF-124 got the first Deltas. Oddly, when VF-124 went away and VF-101 became the "only" F-14 RAG, plenty of -124s jets got repainted in -101 Det Miramar markings and stayed at Miramar.
  12. Hey folks - I'm looking for the decals for VAQ-136 from the Kinetic EA-6B 48044 boxing. Here is a link to a description of the kit -> LINK I willing to buy it if you have one (preferable uncut) if you don't mind a personal check. Please PM me if you have one you're willing to give up. Thanks - John B
  13. That was the first place I looked but the remaining sheets have defects and are being sold "as-is". The stripes that wrap around the the radome has to deal with compound curves. That's not where I want to chance any iffy decals, so I'm hoping to find a "good" set.
  14. Hey folks - I'm looking for CAM Decals 32-032 for VMFA-115's Bicentennial F-4J. Please PM if you have one for sale.
  15. I have a set at home. Please PM me if you're still looking for them. -John B
