Well I have finally sat down and read this ENTIRE thread (with the exception of HOLMES' self-deleted posts). I had made my off the wall response earlier on my smart phone in response to what I remember being a comment by HOLMES that I agreed with. But could never make the time at work to make the long post I wouldve liked to. Much of what has been posted here I agree with and share the same opinion with. IMHO there are no ignorant/stupid questions regarding WW2 aircraft especially out beloved P-51 Mustang. The fact of the matter is, unless you have photographic evidence of something, or VALID/ORIGINAL documentation, the folks that TRULY know the answers to our questions are becoming few and far between, and I would say dont frequent our cyber-workshops. I am going nuts trying to find info/drawings/documentation/photographs regarding Mustangs. There is so much out there, and yet alot of it is pure luck when you happen to come across it, and then there is the info that contradicts other info.

THIS SOUNDS GREAT, I CANT WAIT!!!!! But hey, this is still how I build models.... :unsure:

Really really nice work!!!! Have you done a 1/32 Mustang yet? I think you would be in heaven doing one in that scale. PS whats the back story of the white spot on the left wing below the insignia and on the flap...just curious if you know....

Thank you very much Sean, that compliment means a lot, as I put a lot of effort and thought into the design. I wanted something different, yet didnt want it to look like a circus wagon. BTW, your Spitfire is amazing!!!

Thank you for the compliment HOLMES. I have sent it to my son-in-law, and he thought it was great and placed it on his home office desk. I had also collected a bracelet, and some pins from WW2 USAAF wings and prop insignia. Also a WW2 flying safety booklet published by USAAF. The Mustang and all the paraphernalia just made my daughter cry....but it was a good kind of crying, she was very impressed.

Thanks you guys for the kudos... Well here it sits for the time being, on the back burner. I have procured a canopy to modify, but have not procured the necessary guts to slather a bunch of putty to smooth out the top of the fuselage...

Thanks Prop, Mikkel, and HOLMES. I really really like this Mustang. I wish it was show quality, I would take it to a contest coming up in September. But now that I know the judging criteria, there are just too many discrepancies. But I still may take it and enter as "not-judged".

Some really really nice stuff guys!!! A couple more of mine that have "custom paint"... My what-if Spitfire Night Fighter And my PV-1 Ventura turned Cleveland Air Race VIP Transport ....and Agressor01 needs to post up his "Su-117" what-if....its paint is amazing
