  1. Fuji, The 'Go Navy' Japanese website has a nice link, http://www.ne.jp/asahi/gonavy/atsugi/gonavy605.html Hope this might help. Mike
  2. Third the need for data link pod with GBU-15's/AGM-30's- there's a market for them! M
  3. Keith, Unfortunetely, if your starting with the US-3 kit, you'll be missing some plastic compared to the standard S-3 kit, which will require a little extra work for you: - No ESM antenna under the wings - No MAD Boom - No FLIR turret - No sonar bouy chute/blank under fuselage plates - No Wingtip ESM pods - No torpedos for the weapons bay However, the good thing is that if you plan to do a fairly recent S-3, alot of these items have been deleted! Bill Suggs outlined a great article outling the modern S-3 on Hyperscale; check out: http://www.clubhyper.com/reference/updatin...rvikingbs_

  6. Saw the following post on the Boeing website, describing the new E-3 AWACS Block 40/45 upgrade: http://www.boeing.com/news/releases/2006/q3/060717e_nr.html From the small photo in the article, it looks like the side fuselage ESM cheeks are enlarged; can anyone comment or confirm? Anyone know of any additional external differences/mods? Great, gotta get another 1/72nd Heller E-3 kit..... Thanks Mike
  7. Andre, Yup, that's that one! Thanks. Can't figure our why it would not come up with the ARC Forum search function..... Thanks again. Mike
  8. I seem to recall a very nice set of A-7 images posted recently, featuring images from SEA (Korat?), including images of the SLUFF carrying the somewhat rare square/rectangluar SUU-? dispensor on the wing stations, but can't seem to find the thread now. Can anyone point me in the right direction to find this topic? Thanks. Mike
  9. Ok, so if any of you have been watching the news and have seen that the DC area has been getting whacked with rain, believe it! I got 6 inches of water in my basement, and have spent the last 24 hours pumping it out and cleaning up... ...anyway, unfortunetly, a good bit of my model collection took a hit; the boxes at the 'bottom' of my stacks are very water logged, and I'll work over the next several days/weeks drying them out. Yes, I just ordered TEN shelving units from Lowes to get everything off the floor for future catastrophes.... A quick survey of the damage shows the plastic to be ok,
  10. A few points about the MPRS and those included in the Heller kit. According to Don Logan, those supplied in the kit are for the French version; the USAF Mk 32b differs in having the formation lights on the outside of the pod; those in the kit are in a 'tray' under the basket, giving it a 'cleaner' appearance. Also, I think I remember a tanker-type saying that the small vanes are 'handed'; that is, they are only supposed to be on the outer aspect of the pod, not both sides. Finally, for a USAF MPRS bird, the modeler needs to add new floodlights: one on the outside of each outboard engine pyl

  12. Fellow modelers, I'm having a great deal of difficulty in receiving the completion of an order from Dave Roof that I placed with him and payed for OVER EIGHT MONTHS AGO!!!! I received half the order in Febuary, with a promise that the remainder was on the way...nothing so far. At this point,he has not responded to my e-mails in almost three months; yet, I see him posting often... I'm looking for any help or suggestions for my fellow modelers. If anyone has direct contact with him,I'd appreciate you contacting Dave to urge him to bring this transaction to a resolution: complete my order or
  13. Thanks for the replies everyone! Always wanted to build a 'Heath' bird like the one's in Jim's many F-111 photo (which appear in just about every F-111 book!) with the GBU-15's, AXQ-14 pod and an ECM on the Pave Tack. Thanks again. Mike
  14. Anyone look over the new 1/48th scale IsraCast GBU-15's, 'Old' and 'New'? Am interested in using the 'old' set for an F-111 Desert Storm project, and am wondering how accurate they are? Jim Rotramel, any comment? Thanks. Mike
  15. Anyone know if the missing man F-16 flyover this morning at Arlington National Cemetary was for Scott Crossfield? Unbelievable weather in DC today- Aircraft from DC ANG looked great- low and slow over the Potomac. Hope the photo comes through. Mike
  16. Chappie, Nice photo! What lens were you using? Also, nice lighting- what time of the day? Mike
  17. The mid-wing pylons are currently used not only for Exercises, in which the ACMI pod is carried, but also, more recently, to carry LITENING II Pods for self designation of PGM. 18. Does anyone have a good idea of what color the US-3A's from VRC-50 were painted? It looks like a very light gray, different from the standard S-3's. Thanks. Mike
  19. The 3rd TFW F-4E's are a favorite of mine, especially those that went to DS. Personal correspondence with Col. Lightfoot shortly after the conflict detailed items for aircraft -1199 1. Front left canopy rail: Capt 'Shep' Sheppard 2. Rear left canopy rail: Maj 'Lightly' Lightfoot 3. Front right canopy rail: CC-SMSGT Lind 4. Rear rigth canopy rail: Asst CC- SSgt Paquett He also confirms most of what has also been stated about the ordnance; sorry, no additional info on the 'special' adapter. Jim 'Mr. Ordnance' Rotramel, where are you? Col Lightfoot confirmed: - ALQ-131(v)14 in left front

  21. Don't forget, for something unique, you can do a VA-145 -A with GBU's & snake eyes for the three aircraft modified for using the Pave Knife. Wish someone would do the correct decals for these aircraft.... Mike
  22. That's the 'bump'! Thanks for the clarification. Ok, so anyone got any leads as to who to contact or write to try to get close-ups or drawings so a good representation can be modeled? Thanks again! Mike
  23. Fellow Airline Modelers, I'd appreciate anyone's assistance in providing info on the extra 'bump' that is present on Frontier Airlines A318/A319 aircraft, which is present on the top mid-fuselage of these aircraft. I've found additional photos of these aircraft on Airliners.net, but am looking for more detailed images & info on the 'bump' so I can incorporate this in a model project. May have to make a resin cast.... I have several images I've taken at Reagan National Airport, as well as several from Airliners.net; can't seem to find a convient way to post them to clarify the matter..
  24. Gary, Just wondering if you and Heater have been able to get together and share any info regarding the Ferris-Heater VF-1 F-14 that was discussed earlier this winter. Thanks. Mike
  25. Gary, Thanks! Hoping for the best! Cheers, Mike
