  1. Hi, I am afraid you are right. Even though the location seems a bit OK the angle should be a bit different which I missed somehow. May be the amount of the sooth also creates more error on the look. But at the end l am happy that it does not create a great obstacle.
  2. Hello all, Here is the finished 1/72 model of S.2 Buccaneer from Airfix with the decals from Xtradecal for the machine at RAF Boscombe Down. The model itself is very well as you already know. My only humble comment would be the thickness and depth of the detail lines on the fuselage, wings etc. (I think with the new 1/72 Me-410 model kit Airfix attempts to get rid of these thickness and depth) The model was tried to be finished with the plane flown in 1970's with few antenna modification applied. It is almost out of box. The minor additions are the white antenna whic
  3. Thanks a lot :) I forgot to mention the aircraft itself but the picture speaks by itself. My main aim was to verify the precise description for it and now I am convinced for what you mentioned. That it was used for air-air training. Cheers, Arkut
  4. Hello all, As far as I know the blue color on AIM-9 was used to indicate that it was a training version of the missile. In this instance, in the photo, the load that is hanging on the right pylon seems to appear as a Sidewinder missile without complete tail fins. The date of the photo is unknown but most possibly it was taken in 1980’s or early 1990’s. Could anyone kindly inform or describe what kind of a device is it? Thank you very much in advance. Kind regards, Arkut Yuksel
  5. Dear Paul, Thank you for the comment. Next to the closed MLG forward door the ordnance is easy-peasy in my humble opinion unless you want to build the model during a static show. I think you are absolutely right about the size on the other hand as the ordnance are way small than 1/72 scale. Kind regards, Arkut
  6. Black, red and orange? To colourful:) I assume the airshow birds to be selected from the cleanest ones or? I prefer to build weathered planes so I do not know how at the end it will make 100% sense to have a dirty bird at an airshow. Well I will find a solution. Thanks again Gary. I appreciate your input. Cheers, Arkut
  7. Hello Gary, Thank you very much for your reply. Yes, the museum piece has MER fully loaded with Mk.82s. But for me the most important part is the position of the MLG forward door. And in my humble opinion, by your input, it seems the model itself definitely requires some manipulation at that area which makes me a bit desperate about it. Not only the door has to be created but the well itself has to be built too. I might not be that capable for the well; the door might be copied from other manufacturers part etc. Well, we'll see about the well:)))
  8. Hello, I received the model a few days ago. My humble opinion is that it is not a very bad model. On the contrary it seems to be a nice one considering the options it contains ie. wings configuration. But yesterday I realised that the forward main landing gear doors were moulded closed on the model. Could someone tell and/or describe me if this had been so for A-6A or any other sub-type? Or how frequent had it been to see it in that position on the ground? I have tried to find a picture of the subject but almost all them show the doors actually
  9. Hi to all, Here is an attempt to finish an oldie with aggressor colors, an Esci 1/72 A-4E. I decided to build the one painted with IDFAF colours that are sand, brown, green and light blue. The detail lines are mixed. That is the ones on the fuselage are recessed and the ones on the wing and elevators were raised. I left them as they were. The model is built almost out of box; as usual with my other models. But there are some parts that I tried to correct and add according to the photographs of the real plane I could find on internet. Those are: - The chaff/flare box under
  10. Gents, Please be prepared: https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10977144
  11. Hi Deniz, The project seems to be interesting. I am curiously expecting it to be finished soon. I am afraid the S style pylons for the fuselage are not included based on the photograph of the section you provided. It might be the generic pylon that could be used by all models. But still another point where I hope to be helpful. There is a group on Facebook where ex-TuAF personnel are members. If I am not wrong the group is called ‘F-104’culer’ May be you can have spot on answers as the members are either the maintenance personel or pilots (and a few modellers) I wil
  12. Great reference, I appreciate your sharing. and regarding the topic, I will keep an eye as much as I find good angle pictures. Thank you very much again.
  13. Thank you for the reply Gabor. Then may be I got tricked with lighting of the museum.
  14. Gabor, a different subject with a connection to Mig-17 wing; does this sharp-rounded LE stuff exist for Mig-15 too? The reason I ask is because I saw a Mig-15 UTI at Flugwerft Schleissheim and I thought I realised it so. But since the plane was not at a position to get by I could not be sure. Thsnks in advance, Arkut
  15. Hi, If I were you I would contact with IPMS Hellas and get the help to clarify the situation. Their members include people from the Air Force. They will gladly be helpful to you. Kind regards,
  16. According to IPMS Cross Reference Guide by David H. Klaus here are the close equivalents: -5237= H337 -6307= H324 -6251= Tamiya XF-22 (unfortunately no Gunze equivalents are stated) The book had been prepared at the end of 80’s, a starting point for me aleays. Still I would humbly go cautiously with Tamiya XF-22.
  17. Basic would be the Hasegawa with appropriate small add ons since Greek Air Force has its own modifications applied on them in years. They are not so big in size though so you can mange them easily. If you need a more complex finish then please proceed with ZM and the update set from Hypersonic models or the Greek firm which can be found at the48ers.com, again in cooperation with Hypersonic. Sorry that I can not remember the proper name. Also, the new decals from Zeus Projects are worth to have.
  18. Cool, thanks for sharing. I will remember it as a reference.
  19. As far as I know the intakes move up or down when the plane is powered up. Once there is no power on the plane they stay in slightly up position; not like the way they have been depicted by all other model manufacturers (neutral). Regarding the ailerons so far I could never find a photo that shows the ailerons in neutral position when the plane is parked. I have no clue if both can be manually positioned.
  20. “Great balls of fire!” Sooner than my expectations. I hope they put the air intakes in the correct position which is characteristic to F-15 when parked on the ground. And in my humble opinion it is easily remarkable like the ailerons drop.
  21. No worries please. May be I remember it wrong but I shared the information (of it being clear) with the old memory that I had read somewhere here in ARC. Hence I created my own mixture even though I have the Xtracolor paint. I could not make Xtracolor to dry quicker and since it is an enamel the pigments larger as they should be at the scales we work. I mean, with the finer metallic paints personally I prefer to avoid it if I can. But with the self made mixture I feel more free to adjust the process. All my humble good intentions. Arkut
  22. I asked my wife for help. Here is the picture she took as an attachment. Eventhough it is not the 100% perfect match on the hue within IPMS standards I humbly consider it accetable or even a good match.
  23. Hello, The colour it self is a clear color epoxy thing. What I did is to mix Smoke Blue with a Clear Green. But green needs to be added slowly until you get the hue you like. The clear green is hard compared to smoke blue. This is why. And you have more control on the process. If you mix clear bule and clear green you get closer to japanese Aotake easily compared to this hue. After you get the hue spray metallic color you want and then spray the clear blue-green tjat will create the exact appearance. I wish I could send pictures of mine but the model
  24. We all got tricked by the name of the decal;) Ain’t one in 72nd nor in 32nd scale.
  25. Delivery in progress. HLJ started to place and complete the pre-orders. Mine is at their storage room now.
