  1. Looking super smart there Trent almost there! It's gonna look a beauty when its done. Doc
  2. Not sure Jen, here is the instructions for the 262 I'm doing :- White nose and tail and white numbers. Soooo.... day 4 comes to a close and not had much time to work on the model tonight. I have completed my particular version on the camo, not accurate and not pretty but its on. Then a layer of future in readiness for the decals which should be going on tomorrow :- Finally I put it on its feet and added a few bits and bobs :- In theory this should be finished tomorrow (famous last words) Cheers Doc
  3. Jens you obviously have more control of the airbrush than me! Your 262 certainly looks similar but mine seems to have the top 2 front m/guns plated over and you have all 4, how come? I am in the process of cutting some masks from the copies I have made:- Really wish I could freehand this stuff it would save alot of time, and in fact some places I will have to but this is by far the safer option for me. Cheers Doc
  4. What a great build Mark, of a subject which is rarely seen. Really striking colour should make this one stand out on the model shelf. Fantastic work and thanks for sharing it, this was a struggle at times but the results make the effort well worthwhile. :( :) Doc
  5. ......phew, I'm glad about that as painting has started regardless... Day 3 :- First off a pre-shade using a dark grey :- You can see that I have already sprayed the nose and fin white as masked them off before I started. So then the RLM 76 using a mix which looked about right :- So I let this dry for at least 10 mins I then masked the underside and along the fuselage using tamiya tape and bluetac sausage, never a fan of the stuff especially the blue variety but it was at hand. You can see that with the stripes on the top this is looking more and more like a tiger shark. After t
  6. Time to paint..... But I need your advice first to match the RLM colours with Tamiya XF paints, Mr Tamiya has kindly matched the colours to his AS range From what I have gleened from the IPMS Stockholm site are the following:- RLM 76 - AS-5 or 4 x XF23 + 2 x XF-2 RLM 82 - AS-23 or XF27 RLM 83 - AS-24 or XF26 ........... am I close Any help appreciated Doc
  7. Day 2 :- I have the airframe together now :- Still some filling to be finished on some seams but almost ready for the paintshop. Masked the canopy and attached with crystal clear. More to follow..... Doc
  8. Classic 'B' movie stuff there Steve, good Sunday afternoon viewing. The Aircraft in question can be seen here:- Also the video trailer can be seen HERE. So everyone cast your votes...... Doc
  9. Incentive enough I would say...... So the build starts at noon today with a coat of Halfords Aluminium on the surfaces which need it, this paint has the benefit of drying in next to no time:- Following that on to the cockpit which has the decal instruments added:- I have read that people have had problems removing the decals from the sheet with this kit and mine is no exception, not looking forward to the bigger decals later but fingers crossed. So the cockpit tub is assembled with a colour match for RLM 66 as I'm just using what I have, so the accuracy police will have a field day wit
  10. Time to show my hand :- Badcop has got me thinking if I can complete this Me-262 before the deadline, 6 days start to finish! I can only manage a few hours each day so it WILL be a challenge thats for sure. Needless to say this will be a straight from the box build, nothing fancy and no details just a quick build and see what I can produce. Right I'm off to open the bags up......... Doc

  24. Looking good Steve :) I had the same problem with decals out of registration on my last Tamiya Spitfire, its not until you get the decal off the backing paper and onto the dark camo of the wing that it shows up! Look forward to seeing more pics. Doc
