  1. I seem to recall that Revell-Monogram & Revell-Germany parted ways a while back. They still work closely together with kit swapping, but that are run but different corporate entities.
  2. The article states it all. Layoffs may begin in April. http://www.news-gazette.com/news/local/2018-01-10/hobbico-files-bankruptcy-layoffs-next.html
  3. Actually, Rian Johnson & JJ Abrams announced that they are working on a new Star Wars trilogy, so it looks like there will be at least 12 that you'll have to put into order of best to crap. Now, that's not including Rogue One, the Han Solo movie planned to be released later this year, and the Mandolorian Bountyhunters/Boba Fet movies not included in the Skywalker/Solo main story.
  4. The new Ban Dai kits RULE! I'm currently working on the 1/144 scale AT-AT (dose anyone realize that this kit is actually a snap model?).
  5. "Social Justice Warriors" I haven't seen the movie, but I do agree with both sides of the argument. JJ Abrams has stated numerous times that he likes to interject his left-leaning views into his work, however, some folks seem to look too hard in order to find something that they disagree with. For example, Abrams spoke about the fact that he made sure that everyone knew that Lt Sulu from Star Trek was gay. People's heads exploded over this (and as if Star Trek needed to prove a social point, the series did plenty of that in the 1960s {Oh my God, a white guy kissed a black lady on national
  6. It's probably the ex-Polar Lights 1/350 NCC-1701A kit
  7. It's about time that they re-released that 1/72 Hunter FGA.9
  8. I would like to see more early ANG subjects. Here is a resource that I put together for the 2017 Nationals about the Nebraska ANG aircraft, use it if you need to...... http://www.fortcrookipms.com/index.cfm?go=extra5
  9. Hey Dutch, In speaking with one of the curators of the Nebraska National Guard Museum, we touched briefly on the federalization time for the 173rd when they were assigned to Dow AFB, then Alexandria AFB. According to him, because the unit was using USAF Mustangs, and that they were to re-convert over to the F-80 once more became available, the unit did not alter the markings on the Mustangs assigned to them. Apparently, they didn't carry ANG markings, nor unit markings while in use. More than likely, the Mustangs carried standard USAF markings, including the "buzz" numbers painted on the
  10. Hey Dutch, some information about the aircraft when assigned to the 132nd FBS at Alexandria AFB through 1952. The 132nd FBG, consisting of the 124th FBS, 174th FBS Iowa ANG & 173rd FBS Nebraska ANG, were in the midst of converting into F-80s when the aircraft were pulled to send them to Korea. The units were re-converted back into Mustangs, but were also called into Federal service. They were sent first to Dow AFB, Maine to train replacement Mustang pilots in ground supports operations. there were then transferred to Alexandria AFB, Louisiana in May 1952, replacing the 137th FBW, Okl
  11. Stormtroopers....... What they lack in accuracy, they make up for in massive amounts of expended ammunition..... ....and in honor of Disney's newly minted take-over of FOX studios......
  12. Did you have them shipped direct to the US, and if so what were the rates?
  13. Why don't we let the retailers worry about that problem. If it sales, it sales, if it doesn't, then they will drop it or replace it. If they don't stock it, then they'll never know. ....and not all retailers drop paint lines because they think that they stock too many. Our local Hobbytown USAs used to carry Vallejo paints, but don't do it anymore. You know why? Because the local Hobby Lobbys carry Vallejo as well, but at a lower price. As a result, the Hobbytowns dropped the line.
  14. Any idea what units/Nations will be on the sheet?
  15. Argentina......(Yes, a few sheets were released, but none of them are currently available)
  16. You mean like Pearl harbor? (I'm going to Hell for that one.....)
  17. Well, that problem is up to the distributors and hobby shops, it's their choice to carry the line or not. You can also order the paints directly from Tru-Color. I stick with MM enamels because I like them and it's too expensive for me to just switch over to another line....I have plenty of the reciently cancelled Camoflauge Grey to last a long while. I don't worry myself with the current "paint fashion", I'll stick with what I like until I can't anymore.....then I will look for a replacement for what's not available. But again, another paint line allows for more choice.
  18. I don't see any problem with having another line of paints around, specially one who tries to replicate the F-22 colors. I have already found a local hobby shop in Omaha that carries the line and a distributor in Lincoln. I haven't "invested" in the line yet, but with Testors cutting their MM line, I would like to find a back-up source and not worry about getting paint that is subject to constantly changing EPA importation regulations.
  19. Actually, Tru-Color has been around since 2008 doing railroad and auto colors, they just started going into military colors earlier this year. I managed to pick up a few bottles for the F-22 and F-35 while I was at the Leavenworth KS contest earlier this year. I am very interested if the F-22 colors are comparable to the Raptor Sheen colors that Hawkeye used to have before they closed up shop. I haven't tried using them yet because I'm trying to get more information about thinners and airbrush use. Besides, if they are good, $5.00 for a 1 ounce bottle compared to about $4.00 for a 1/2 oun
  20. Well, if you're going to do something right, take your sweet-@$$ time doing it.......
