Hey Rom! Looks great. About the darker color. If you freehand your camoflauge, I would start with the lighter color and paint only where you want the color. Then choose the next color and paint it. I usually try to start with the light colors and then do the dark last. just my preference. Keep up the great work! Can't wait to see it done!

Brandon :)

thank you brandon and likoyan!

concerning the engines, i spray Humbrol 27003 "metalizer". It needs to be polished after drying.. it gives the shiny metal effect.

Then i use this color mixed with others like black, blue, red, aluminium... one per time!

with this new color i fill some panels, i draw some lines..

I do a wash too...

then i aply oil paint : burnt umber, burnt sienna and raw sienna.. i brush the little touch with a paintbrush in the wind flow direction

It's not very difficult but it needs time!!

hope it helps...

Oh, and too late... i started to spray darker green... we will see....

bye!!

Thanks for the help on the engines. do you give them a clearcoat of somekind after you do all your painting and weathering? I don't think it will matter much that you started with the dark paint first. I've seen your other builds and I don't think you can make a mistake! You have some great talent! Keep up the great work!

on the engines , i spray future/klir after...

For my paintjob.... my airbrush is not a great one!! .

.

.

.

And after trying to obtain a nice effect, i decided to use masks.....

i just painted that:

HPIM0965.jpg

It will be better with masks... i can't obtain a regular thin paintflow

i going to print scheme drawings, and cut them...

So, in this case, wich color first? lighter? :deadhorse1:

ROM. I would use the lighter first with masks. Are you going to use some bluetack to hold the masks down? That way the masks won't be directly on the plastic and you will get a small faded area. Will look really nice! Just remember, I am still a rookie at this hobby! :)

you're right brandon!

i wil use bluetack (called here "patafix") to hold the mask upon the surface.

I will spray the sand color tomorow... free hand but not with precision.

I've just painted the stabs...

The result with masks gives a thinner fading...more realistic at this scale than the free hand....

I cut the masks in a scale printed draw, then i put a roll of bluetack under it... and put it on the model...

The blue tack let some traces on the paint... hope it will go with some white spirit..

bye!!

hello! here is the paint progress :

During painting process :

HPIM1004.jpg

masks removed :

HPIM1012.jpg

We can see that the bluetack let some traces

I removed them using a coton swab with a little white spirit :

Then :

Some imperfections remain... i will rectify it tomorow with the airbrush

Bye!!
