AFV Club 1/48 F-5F sprue shots

Recommended Posts

Is this F-5 really much of an improvement over the Monogram kit?

You obviously haven't seen both of these kits. The Monogram/Revell kit has bad fit and raised panel lines. The AFV Club kit has great fit, recessed panel lines and finer details than the Monogram/Revell kit.

I have scrapped both my Revell/Monogram F-5E and F-5F after getting my hands on the AFV Club kit.

IPMS Austria did a sheet that has Austrian and Swiss F-5s on them. It was released in 1/72, 1/48 and 1/32. Might be difficult to find though.

It is still available in 1/72, but the larger scales are OOP.

But maybe they will be re-released, even in better printing quality, in the near future.

Regards,

Markus

Do you think there would be an interest in a new decals sheet of F-5E/F markings for foreign users? Almost every decal sheet for the F-5E/F is for aggressor/adversary squadrons. I certainly understand their appeal, but many F-5E/F users seem to be ignored by other decal makers.

We have just released the 1st "Tiger II" sheet covering Iranian F-5E/Fs. Several additional sheets covering foreign F-5Es / Fs & RF-5Es are already in the pipeline B)

Greetings

Surely the Saudi RF-5Es with "short" photo nose and Tigereyes with black and desert camos (with "operational" codes, not the delivery ones B) )

and maybe Singaporean birds in grey camo ( Malaysian and Taiwanese Tigereyes have been covered directly by AFV Club)

Greetings

Great! I built one AFV Club F-5, and the lack of a rim on the nosewheel made my paintjob look rather sloppy.....These definately look much better!

I made sure to fix that problem with these. I also noticed on some of my kits, that the nose wheels were short-shot. This will fix that too

Cheers,

-Doug :salute:

  • 1 year later...

Is the plastic the same in all the AFV F-5F kit releases? I see they have 3 different "versions" of the F-5F released. Can I assume they follow the hasegawa business model of releasing the same kit muitple times with different decal sheets? Or is there an actual difference between them?
