Armoryman
1/72 Mil Mi-8MTPS "Smalta-M" electronic warfare conversion set (universal) Edited May 7, 2014 by Armoryman
Flankerman
Excellent !!! I just found an old CIRO conversion set for the Mi-8PPA - so with this new Armory set, I can now make two generations of ECM Hips using the Hobby Boss kit. Any more Mi-8 sets in the pipeline, Amoryman ?? We need Mi-8AMTSh & Mi-8MTV5 converions, new fuel tanks, weapons sets, 5-star vibration dampers, flare packs etc etc. There are LOADS of possibilities for resin conversion sets for the mighty Mi-8 Ken

Flankerman
Dream Model made one a few years back but it had 6 arms not the correct 5 arms. Here's my scratchbuilt attempt.... I'll try to dig out some photos of our other 'requests'........ Ken
Tank
Here's my scratchbuilt attempt.... I'll try to dig out some photos of our other 'requests'........ Ken It's a good start, the circle to pentagon ratio looks a little off. I have some ideas on tweaking the Dream Model one but havn't tried it yet.
Flankerman
Here's some ideas, Armoryman..... Bigger external tanks.... Chaff/Flare boxes..... How about a nose gun insert?....... (this one is without the gun) .... and a correct shaped winch for the Hobby Boss kit ?? A conversion set for the ECM Mi-8MTPB would be nice - to go with the CIRO PPA and new Armory set - plenty of pics on Russianplanes.net Oh! - and some 'proper' instrument binnacles to replace the HB ones which have no backs to them !! I'll try to think of some more..... Ken Edited July 22, 2011 by Flankerman
Armoryman
Dear colleagues, Proceeding developing Mi-8/17 theme, we're on the finish line to release of Mil Mi-8PPA conversion set. PE parts are ready, resin parts will be ready soon. Now we're working on decal transfers - decided to make superdecal to completely cover Mi-8PPA theme. 33 versions are planned: - 9Ñ… Ukrainian AF - 18Ñ… Russian AF - 4Ñ… Czech AF - 1Ñ… Slovakian AF - 1Ñ… Syrian AF Now we need some help with Czech markings version, low visibility scheme. Has anybody high definition photo of "Lion" picture under canopy right blister? http://www.airliners.net/photo/Czech-Republic--/Mil-Mi-8PPA/1984450/L/&sid=6419f9caebf0fb702e4b7d11b12d71d4

skyhawk174
I am so jealous. I should just do the Mi-8 in 1/72nd since I don't think I will live long enough to see one in 1/48. Not sure which one in 1/72nd though. I have heard that the Zeveda kit is the one.
Tank
...who asked for vibration dampers? :yahoo: Please tell me we can get those separate?

norbert
...who asked for vibration dampers? Great ! now that you have designed this, should not be to much work to do what is underneath, and change scale to 1/48... Nice details Norebrt

lifeline
Still no parts for nose and tail conversion for Mi-17V5, huh? :'( Edited May 10, 2014 by lifeline
Armoryman
Tank, I think, nothing will stop me to start selling those dumpers as separate sets. norbert, rescaling to 1/48 need couple of mouse clicks (if detailing level of 3D-model shown is appropriate for 1/48). But, I think, if Chinese manufacturers develop 1/48 Mi-8/17 kit,the dumper will be definitely in base configuration. lifeline, working on Mi-8MTV5 and Mi-171Sh already! "Duck" nose, back ramp and heater are ready already. Working on different kind of heater (square shape) and doors.
Flankerman
Armoryman, Great news about conversion sets....... I took lots of photos of Mi-8MTV5 & Mi-8AMTSh showing the differences - if you need them..... Ken Duffey
