rom
Hello Thank you guys! :rolleyes:/> I carried out the weathering by adding a dark brown wash (sepia)on some areas: access doors, movable aprts... I also painted the articulation of flaps with metalcote: These panels are particularly dirty on pictures of tha actual aircraft: Engine undersides are also treated: Some vertical streaks are added on the nose: And I finished the canon areas: With sepia oil and rust weathering powders. The whole process is sealed under several layers of mat varnish from Microscale. As you can see on the pictures above. et voilà ^^ We reach the near end of this re-build ;^) Cheers! dsahling
That riveting work you did really paid off, it makes the faded paint effect even better
Rogier77
Looks very nice. Good paint job and weathering. I love worn out Russian jets. Gr Rogier
chuck540z3
Hi Rom! As the others have said already, the weathered finish looks very real for a heavily weathered jet. You are the master of dirty Soviet fighters! Now get that masking tape stuck back on your nice engines. The peeled back tape is scaring me. :o
rom
Hi guys! Thank you very much!! ;^) Thank you Chuck for passing by ;^) No worries about the masking tape. ^^ I took it of without problems. Cheers! Rom

rom
Hello, Thank you mates ;^) I had to sand the edge of Trumpeter plastic in order to make the Aires Nozzles fit in diameter. Then I repainted the affectd panels with Humbrol Metalcote. Some effects are added on the whole previously painted engine panels. I used weathering powders from Tamiya (Set D) burnt red and blue, oil stain. Closer and closer to the end Cheers! Rom
Joel_W
Simply an outstanding, well weathered camo paint scheme. I'm still amazed that this is a reconstruction effort of an earlier build.
rom
Hello Thanks Joel Last update!! Antennas: And canopy Actuator is made with syring needle. I glued a metal wire in order to permit the canopy to be correctly set in place. The setting is not fragile. And can be taken away. Done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you guys for watching this (re)build and for your kind comments Rom

Youngtiger1
Ron, follow the whole build and I must say the final result is awesome. I'd be proud to have this beauty in my display, if I had one. Mike
