Aigore
Very nice work on those 'pits' Algore, and thanks for your reply to my question about their size-accuracy. Personally, I'm more into the Kinetic Kit but, I would like to see somebody offering an aftermarket cockpit though! Keep up the good work!!!! Sernak You´re welcome :D I wouldn´t mind that either... Aigore
After a days rest from the kits I set out to do some construction today :D First I puttied the middle seam on both kits....suppose that´s more to do with the builder than the kits them selfs :P One little comment tho, I don´t really like the IP shroud on the KInetic kit...would have been smarter to have it as a separate piece as in the AMK kit. Put the air inlets in place on the Kinetic kit.....looks like a decent fit :D For the AMK kit you have to put together the MLG wells as they are made out of 4 separate pieces....makes for great details but it´s a bit fiddley, I suppose it´s a question of taste :D Well I think this picture speaks for it self..... The kinetic wings needed a bit of convincing, you don´t really need the clamps but they do help! While the AMK wings were a drop fit. As I´ve come to expect from the AMK kit, the fit of the wing to the fuselage was pretty much perfect! But the Kinetic wasn´t far behind, excellent fit in both kits! Oki, now for some sanding before construction continues! Cheers!

Yso
Oh, the old times, when i snapped my KFIR togerther from an 1/72 italeri kit as a child.
Aigore
looks good so far.Inspired by your double build I ordered my self one in 72 :D/> LOL, yer so impressionable :P Oh, the old times, when i snapped my KFIR togerther from an 1/72 italeri kit as a child. :wub:/> I remebered when I was a kid and found the F-21 at the locals toy shop, couldn´t believe my eyes that the Americans had a Mirage look-alike in their inventory! I had never heard of agressor squadrons back then :P
Aigore
On with the Kfirs! Today I got to see the dark side of the AMK Kfir! Ugh, do you kiss mommy with those intake lips? AMK put the bulge at the rear as a separate piece...and the fit is bad. Had to use a clamp to make the rear facing camera align to the fuselage. On the Kinetic the fit was better and I think it´s an over all better sollution. It got better towards the front tho....this , what ever it is, was a drop fit! The fit was equally good on the Kinetic... The nosecone is slightly smaller than the fuselage in diameter... And on the kinetic it´s alightly bigger than the diameter of the fuselage :P I took too many pics so this is a two parter.
Aigore
part 2 The Air intakes fit uncannily well! A couple of front views...first up the AMK... and then the Kinetic. And the two protagonists side by side... Cheers!

Aigore
awesome stuff as usual Janne. you are a master Thanx Dylan :D Nah, dunno about master ... Is it just me or does the kinetic wings have curve to them? LOL it´s just you, I think it´s an illusion of the photo..I´ve been turning and oogling the kinetic kit and the only curve I found was the warping of the tailfin :P
11bee
Is it just me or does the kinetic wings have curve to them? +1... What's up with that?
Aigore
Okie.... let´s see here. AMK Kinetic I don´t think the entire wing is curved, looks like the upper winghalf has some greater curvature than the AMK dito

Aigore
Any progress? Some but very little, a bit of sandig and filling. Soon they are fit for primer and a status report.
Aigore
Well then, the Kfirs are coming together nicely... Here´s the AMK ready for primer And the little forrest of parts... The Kinetic put together and ready for primer... I went with dropped flaps on this. And it´s forrest of parts... A couple of side by side shots... There, now I´ll just mask the canopies and windscreens and then it´s time for primer :D Cheers!
Bryan H.
Thanks for the comparison build - it's good to see how the kits shape up side-by-side. Great work! and happy modeling, Bryan

Nuno Andresen
Janne you're really helping so many of us! I don't know how many modellers will follow this topic in the years to come, but sincerely it will become an one stop reference regarding what Kfir to buy! Marvellous work! Please, if I can ask: In the images it is visible some indents and some thin putty lines around the bottom nose of the AMK Kfir. The Kinetic kit seems much cleaner. If I can ask, and speaking about your own experience, how would you compare the fit of both models? Thanks! And is it me or are the trailing edge movable surfaces dimensionally slightly different? At least the AMK seems to be fixed and Kinetic can be dropped. Many photographs show the real Kfir with a slight drop when parked in the tarmac. Food to talk :D
