Thanks for organising the group build, David. It was fun and some excellent builds have come out of it. What a range of aircraft got turned out of the Iron Works. If you do another Grumman group build in about 5 years time, I may even get my damn Tomcat out and finish it! Cheers,

Ian

Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa.

I am very late getting the raffle together. Completely my fault. I've been working long hours 7 days a week all of January, but that's not an excuse.

I am getting the raffle put together now. I will put out the details in a couple of days.

Thank you.

Hear Ye, Hear Ye!

The Grumman Iron Works Group Build Prizes

There were 14 builders of 20 models. To honor all the outstanding work, each builder of a completed model except myself will receive a prize.

I generated the following ordering based on numerical manipulations of your usernames. The ordering is:

  1. Litvyak
  2. arnobiz
  3. rightwinger26
  4. Alcricket
  5. Mike C
  6. marvin20
  7. pkrasna
  8. Spectre711
  9. Ian Cooper
  10. martin_sam_2000
  11. phantom
  12. Tom G
  13. kg4kpg

The significance of the ordering is as follows:

PLEASE PM ME with your choice and snail mail address by Feb 27th!

Please choose a currently available, shipping, product.

I will collect the prizes from the sponsors and forward them to you.

[Edit: Added a request to slect a currently available, shipping product.]

For those interested, here is the program I used to generate the ordering:

#!/usr/bin/perl
#
my %names;
while (<>) {
       $n = (split /,/)[0];
       next if $n =~ /David/;
       $v = 0;
       $v += ord( $_ ) foreach (split //,crypt( $n, 42 ));
       $names{$n} = $v%41;
}
print "$_\n" foreach sort { $names{$a} <=> $names{$b} } keys %names;

42 is the Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything; 41 is the largest prime less than 42; the sponsor ordering is from my GB banner.

The input file was

Thanks David, I really loved the way you ran the GB up to the end with a very neat program :)

Now I will need to spend some time looking through the great (and very original) Caracal range, thanks Caracal Models! :)
