The_Animal
That does it...I quit. Anybody want to help me by buying my kits so I can get a D50? Seriously, Wasserfall, Beautiful job on the Flanker. That brass tube will definitely secure the rear. Looking forward to seeing this build progress.
LST01
Found it!!! :D Before I continue with the tail wings I'll read your thread first! :) Cherio!
upupandaway
Slow train coming here, but I really like the custom work you did on the wheelbays. It looks really great That section on the kit part is really a bit unspetacular...
Wasserfall
when looking at the vertical stabilizers of the real aircraft you can see the hinges where the rudder is attached clearly. so i tried to create them from styrene etc. In the first picture i cut away some plastic, note left and right side of the same rudder are different shapes for the holes! the little parts are the hinges in their rough form. And the other side. The next pictures show how it wil look like when they are attached. Finally i did some work on the intakes of the vert. stabilizers, it seems that the one on the left is slightly bigger than the right one (there is also a divider in the left one), but it isn't that much of a difference. i sanded the left one from the inside and the right one from the outside to create a different size. left one right one That's it for the moment, see ya
geedubelyer
Good work on the fins Wasserfall. You'll be pleasantly surprised how even these little additions make a big difference to the overall look of your model. Very neat and tidy job.
Wasserfall
Thanks Geedubelyer! I guess no one would ever notice, except some who are infected with Flankeritis  But i'm glad i did it, if only small things, but they make a great difference as you say. Wasserfall
Here are some pictures of the (mkII) intakes, and they fit perfectly  Thanks Chris ;) Nothing glued yet, just put it in place for the pic Now it's up to detailling the bays and inside intakes Other angle :D
upupandaway
Jealous I am :P. I´m still craving for the mkII intakes (although I think the mkI had a good fit too when I dry fitted them... ) and I find your adaptions to the fins very inspiring and might just do it similarly. Just keep it up! :D :D
Wasserfall
Hello fellow Flankerites suffering people :D Today some pics of my very slow build In the first picture i sprayed the inside of the intakes in a base color, Tamiya darkyellow oversprayed with a mist of silver. (on pictures this is mostly a yellowishprimer or bare metal. The fod covers are gunmetal which will be buffed with silver, engine fan is silver. It is just a base coat from which i will build furher on Painted the mainwheelwells also and weathered it with some pastel powders. Otherside And last one topside Maybe the weathering is to heavy, but it is going to be "used" bird. Thanks for watching. Edited April 14, 2006 by Wasserfall

Left and rightside: And finally a close up Thanks for looking, if you have any comments please do. geedubelyer
Happy Easter to you too.......(~looks for Easter bunny smilie ^_^ ~) You obviously have a very steady hand my friend. Super detail painting. That wheel bay is tremendous. It's good to see you're getting some progress made. Thanks for updating this thread and letting us see your work. David Walker
That nose wheel-well looks completely real. It may have been mentioned before (sorry, I haven't read the whole thread) but the writing on the end of the wheel well: is that a decal, dry transfer or hand painted? It's a decal, but it is in Cyrrilic and it is from a decalsheet, but in reality it should be something like "battery" but that is not what is written in my well
Liberator24
got a su27 in today, my first!! This rocks!! Nice detailing!

I´ll keep watching! :) Yes it's quite fun to do, but my back hurts from leaning over Does your Evolution has a separate paint yar? like to get one some day. Cheers
upupandaway
Oh lol! Man, that IS true. I quess there´s just no way to get around that. The Freehand does have two separate jars that can be screwed onto the gun and there´s also a lid for the big one. Looks like this:
MaRiO FDZ
WOW!!!! NICE work you're doing there!!! I like it <_< Take Care
Wasserfall
Some time ago i painted the insides of the intakes ocre with a thin silver layer But after some studie's of the intakes on Kasatka's Flanker DVD, they seme to be painted in a beige color, so it's not bare metal (you can see that when the grey paint is scratched off, there is a yellow primer visible underneath). So up to spraying them again Here are the first pic's how it will look. Simulated some wear and teare of the fod guard going up and down, and where the protective cover is placed during parking. Finally a close up Body color is yet to be applied (after glueing the hull together, some time) Thanks for looking
