Darren Roberts
My apologies. I didn't mean to create a fire storm. I don't post many pictures. I just wanted to share what was a really cool scheme. I won't do it again. Edited February 20, 2010 by Darren Roberts
GreyGhost
That does look sharp ! Thanks for sharing, Darren ... I wonder how often the centerline will be fitted instead of a pod ... Gregg

Brian P: Fightertown Decals
1/72? I don't know.... but 1/48 I might have an idea -brian
John B
It doesn't get much better than this!photographer unknown Wow! What a difference just a few years makes! It really makes the EA-6B look like "the hot chick's frumpy friend with the great personality". I wonder how the G would look with a gloss black tank with gray/red letters? Julien (UK)
That looks good, I am not an 18 fan but I would build that. Does anyone do a decent kit in 1.72?? Julien
Jinxter13
I can see the decal makers scrambling now to get refs......Certain makers here and I'm not gonna call any names, but a hint is Fightertown decals probably is already discussing it with his contacts... . That is one eye catching scheme. Now we need to see one with a little "AF" on the side for the ones who'll be spearheading strike packages with USAF mudmovers in tow... Darren Roberts
the photographer is Joe Hawkins, and he sent them to the US Military Aviation Google Group Is that where I get my pictures from? I have a friend who emails me pictures just about every day and I don't have a clue where they come from. He's written many of the Squadron In-Action books and has literally thousands of slides. I never knew where he was getting them from. I might need to join that group. That sounds like it has tons of photos to drool over.
Fuji
My question is how soon before they start turning these guys into Tankers like the ES-3As. Edited February 18, 2010 by Fuji

I don't know if Joe posted them elsewhere, and that's where your friend got them. But if if they were forwarded from the Google Group, I think that is a violation unless one has the photographer's permission

ka3b
Hey guys, I am the guy who took the picture. I would appreciate it if you could tell me where it came from, I only posted it on one email list. I have some more pictures of -141's CAG bird, probably will be of interest to you guys. I am willing to share if you could tell me where you got that one. Joe

"THE PHOTOG PLAYS FAIR"??? Your missing the whole point. Darren Roberts ripped the photographer off, posted the image without his permission and you want him to play fair!! How about helping him solve the issue so he would happily post more of his fine images? I am sure your attitude will help Joe feel a lot better about this and post his great phots. And no, it was not funny either. Norm Edited February 19, 2010 by nfiler

And no, it was not funny either.Norm Gotta agree with Norm here. This forum has always been bad about copyright issues even though the rules of the road are posted for all to read. Many times I've reported the copyright violations but I can't be the copyright police. Darren was out of line on this one big time & Joe so far has been a lot nicer than I would have been. In my opinion, Joe has been more than fair. I had to join Master 194 and take care of an issue there. These are the reasons I post images less and less
GreyGhost
Um, Darren didn't exactly 'rip off' the photo ... It was sent to him, there is no watermark identifying the source, he didn't take credit for it and I doubt he's made any money from posting it ... I don't believe he has any malice intended on his part towards Joe ... He can scrub the link ... As for what Clif wrote, you can clearly see he was just joking ... Gregg Doesn't matter Gregg Hi Everyone,I'm glad you are making such productive use of this forum. It's looking excellent so far. One request though....only post pics you own the copyright to or that you have copyright permission to use. Posting photos here is the same as publishing photos in a book....so you must respect the copyrighted owners of the photos. Thanks!!! And keep up the good work.....I'm really enjoying this new forum. Steve B ARC Owner http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....howtopic=132676 Just cause it was emailed to him doesn't mean he has any rights to post it. He knows it wasn't his and the fact that he didn't know who the photographer was should be questionable enough not to post it here. That's the rules of the road

Gregg Doesn't matter what it looks like Gregg, the fact is that Darren admits he doesn't know who shot it. He should know better. Ken even stepped in with the photogs name where it probably came from and said this is a possible violation of the rules. Just because someone doesn't put their name on it doesn't mean its free to be used by anyone. The simple thing is if its not yours don't post it. It can't be any more clear than that. I know he meant no harm by it, but, intentions don't matter. Edited February 19, 2010 by Fuji
